My college roommate was from Fond Du Lac, so I've heard about many of the different mysteries that have gone on in the Fond Du Lac county area.
Its my own hope that spotlighting some of these missing and unsolved cases with help the people involved some peace from all of it. That perhaps the right person will read this hub and know something. If you do, I will included contact information.
The Story of FDL Jane Doe
The remains of the Fond Du Lac (shortened to FDL) Jane Doe was found November 23 2008, in Ashford, Wisconsin a rural area of Fond Du Lac county. Investigators could not find the cause of death, however due to the way her remains were found it is speculated she had been murdered.
It is speculated that she died in the summer months prior to her remains being found. Based on the decomposition of her body.
Although race was hard to be determined she had similar traits to White, Hispanic, Native American or Asian decent. Although most reports and websites point towards white as her race.
Her age is speculated to be between 15-21 years old, and stood at a height between 4'10-5'4.
Her clothing was traced to a Family Dollar (or a similar store) that sold the outfit for two weeks during the summer. The sale of the clothing and the time span between her remains being found fit the timeline. Oddly investigators found the clothing to be a problem due to that fact she had several different sizes of clothing on her.
The clothing that had been found including a black and pink top with a pink bow, Her jeans were the Angels brand and the bottom of the legs had been rolled up. She had no socks of shoes, and at first no jewelry had been found until a penny-sized St. Benedict medal was found by divers, but it may not have belonged to her,
Her hair was a shoulder-length light brown, possibly having highlights.
Her Final Resting Place
She is buried at Cattaraugus Cemetery, in Waupun Wisconsin.
