Coming to the True Self

Updated on October 30, 2009

To be able to live your life to the fullest, you must be able to live your life for yourself. There are individuals in the world that are busy living their life for other people. If one is living for someone else, ones real life isn't being lived at all.To betray yourself is to betray your own conscious mind. A person can never find his or herself living for some one else, or come to self realization. Some are afraid to stop playing follow the leader, because of the fear of being alone. It is a great fear in coming to terms with ones self. Coming to terms with the self to some, is like coming to nothingness. There is a gift in nothingness.Coming to the true self is destroying the devil with in,which could have manifested from our own fears. If you start thinking for yourself, you can find out things about yourself you never knew. If every body in the world came to their true selves, the so called dictator would be extinct. People like Saddam Hussein, or Osama Bin Laden would not come to power. Because if the majority people are in there true state of being, they would not be afraid to take a stand for what is right. Rising above this mental ignorance, is one of the steps toward rising to the next conscious level. A level we must all rise above to keep from getting destroyed by our own fears. People must realize that nothing but destruction can result from sacrificing one's sight of reality to any other consideration. People must learn to seek ones own sense of self-esteem in the productive use of his mind.Civilization must learn that the approval of others cannot be a substitute for self-esteem, only anxiety is possible to those who attempt such a substitution. Civilization must learn not to be afraid to question and challenge the prevalent beliefs of his or her culture. We must learn to fight for our own happiness and to deserve it. Civilization must learn that the irrational will not work- and that so long as any part of us desires it, that desire is the cause of human suffering.
