Cory Aquino: The Real Score!?

Updated on July 3, 2009

A Great Filipina

Media Black-Out

I am not really sure why the Aquino's aren't telling the real score on Cory Aquino's health.

Will it cause Political Instability?

Would divulging her real health status endanger her health further?

Would it create a Media Circus?

Cause it bothers me alot when I watch the news and they keep on telling lies and flashes file videos of Cory Aquino in good health.

I am not anti-Cory.

But I believe that if we tell the truth, our prayers would be more definite and a MIRACLE could happen.

I am not doing this for popularity.

I am not doing this for money.

I am not doing this for anything else.

I just want to tell the truth and shed some light on the real score.

Yes, she is not doing well.

It was stated in the news that Cory Aquino was admitted at Makati Medical Center due to lack of appetite or anorexia. And according to the news, it was due to the fluid in her abdomen.

Ah!

Fluid in the abdomen? Maybe they are pertaining to ascites. Which according to wikipedia is an accumulation of fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Although most commonly due to cirrhosis and severe liver disease, its presence can portend other significant medical problems.

What could have caused this?

First and foremost, we go back to her primary condition which is Colon cancer. Colon cancer has a tendency to metastasize (in simple terms: ability to spread to other organs). And the most common site of metastasis is the liver. Since metastasis to the liver will cause cirrhosis eventually severe liver disease, ascites will eventually happen.

Loss of appetite or anorexia. This can be attributed to cancer cachexia.

Cachexia (pronounced /kəˈkɛksiə/) is loss of weight, muscle atrophy, fatigue, weakness and significant loss of appetite in someone who is not actively trying to lose weight. The formal definition of cachexia is the loss of body mass that cannot be reversed nutritionally; even if you supplement the patient calorically, lean body mass will be lost, indicating there is a fundamental pathology in place. Cachexia is seen in patients with cancer, AIDS, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and CHF (congestive heart failure). It is a positive risk factor for death - meaning if the patient has cachexia, the chance of death from the underlying condition is increased dramatically.

Note: Again this is lifted from wikipedia.com

What Cancer Stage?

In stage IV, cancer may have spread to nearby lymph nodes and has spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver or lungs.

Why stage IV?

Ascites may explain the liver metastasis or spread to other parts of the body, besides the colon.

Prognosis

The prognosis of patients with colon cancer is clearly related to the degree of penetration of the tumor through the bowel wall, the presence or absence of nodal involvement, and the presence or absence of distant metastases.

Don't sue me! Don't hate me!

I am no pessimist.

But I prefer that we should be informed with the correct, accurate and reliable facts.

Let us pray for a Miracle!
