Damned the Torpedoes Full Speed Ahead

Updated on February 28, 2010

The Commander and Sheik Hussein Obama stole the famous quote from Admiral David Glasgow Farragut as he concluded his carefully orchestrated Health Care Theatrical Production by saying “Damned the American People, Full Speed Ahead with Government Takeover of Healthcare! In real terms what he said was; “we cannot have another year-long debate about this, so the question that I'm going to ask myself and I ask of all of you is, is there enough serious effort that in a month's time or a few weeks' time or six weeks' time we could actually resolve something? And if we can't, then I think we've got to go ahead and make some decisions, and then that's what elections are for."

In essence this smug, arrogant American apologist just told the American Public; look I don’t give a damned what you want, I’m pushing ahead at full speed with this and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. You shouldn’t have elected a Fascist/Socialist if you didn’t want me to take over the banking sector of the economy, the auto Industry and now the healthcare industry. You should have been more vigilant. You should have paid attention to my dangerous associations, DON’T BLAME ME NOW FOR GETTING EXACTLY WHAT YOU VOTED FOR!

The Republicans led by John Boehner tried in vain to get the point across that the American people had made it perfectly clear that they want this bill scrapped and they want congress to start over. But, unfortunately the bipartisan health care summit proved to be nothing more than yet another photo op for his Divine Majesty King Hussein Obama the First!

An what about the center piece of the Republican dissent of King Hussein’s proposal, Tort Reform. Well just as was the case when His Majesty visited the House of Commons last month, he simply tried to outmaneuver and debate the Republicans. Even when it was pointed out that 1/3 of all charges filed by doctors are preventative; in other words unnecessary test in order to protect the doctors from the lawyers! And why won’t the Democrats seriously address Tort Reform; former DNC Chairman Howard Dean some months ago in a public rally addressed this by openly saying “we don't want to anger the trial lawyers.” And what he didn't say is the trial lawyers own the Democratic Party.

So what was this obvious exercise in futility about? It was nothing more than the first act of a two-act production designed to present the Republicans as unwavering and unwilling to compromise which then produces a sound bite that will be used in the upcoming weeks to encourage the Democrats in the house and the Senate. Why encourage the Democrats, in order to give them the courage in joining him in Ramming Government Control Healthcare down Their Throats! Look out, reconciliation, is on the way!

And exactly how did Obama, Biden and Reid fell about such a maneuver when they were out of power senators? Then Senator Obama said; “what I worry about would be the reconciliation process— you essentially have still two chambers, the House and the Senate, but you have simply majoritarian, absolute power on either side. And that's just not what the founders intended.”

Senator Biden said, “This nuclear option is ultimately an example of the arrogance of power. It is a fundamental power grab. I say to my friends on the Republican side, you may own the field right now, but you won't own it forever. And I pray god when the Democrats take back control we don't make the kind of naked power grab you are doing.

Senator Reid said; this is exactly what the filibuster does. It encourages moderation and consensus. It gives voice to the minority so that cooler heads may prevail. The filibuster is a critical tool in keeping the majority in check.

Where are those opinions today?

You have put so much great points in the hub. Quoting reid, BO and Dean on these points is so strong. What a bunch of Hipocrits. They had full power for a year and still couldn't ram the bills through. This is lack of leadership and competence.

      Keep on hubbing!

You nailed it; this is the most hypocritical administration this country has ever seen. They are truly a bunch of elitist that know what’s best for us; despite what we say to the contrary!

Great Hub,, of course Obama can't wait another year for his socialist plan to become law, he knows exactly what his chances are after the November elections when his Congressional and Senate majorities could be lost...

After the November elections he can kiss his agenda goodbye.

They need to be stopped NOW!

I've concluded the bill is not about health care, it's all about the government taking control. What I don't understand is how Obama and Congress think all of this will be paid for. The wealthiest will simply leave the country with their money. That leaves working people, and they can't support the new bureaucracy of this health care takeover. And I have to wonder, who will want to become a doctor and therefore a government employee?

Like his Chief of Stooges Rahm Emanuel said, never let a crisis go to waste. He knows he was elected out of a crisis; the American people had temporarily lost their minds, and before they regained them which they are doing now, they have to push Karl’s (Marx that is) agenda through quickly. That’s why I entitled this hub Damn the Torpedoes Full Speed Ahead. Time is running out and they know it!

The question is can we undo the harm he’s causing?

This is not about healthcare; your are so right, it’s about the government taking over 1/6 of the economy. They don’t care about how it’s paid for or even if it’s paid for. This will buy them countless votes from people that think the government should take care of them from the cradle to the grave.

You again nailed it with your doctor comment; they will flee this country in droves; quit practicing and retire those that can and new ones will choose another career. But what does Obama care; he believes Americans have it too good already; let us suffer like the rest of the world from lack of medical care

This is about reducing American’s standard of living so we will be more in line with our neighbors! Remember he told Joe the Plumber we’re all better off when we spread the wealth, well that goes for health care also. There’ll be no increase in the number of Drs, Hospitals, medicine etc; we’ll now just spread what’s left around to more people. Isn’t life under Obama Care Grand?

Time to start over from scratch on the whole health care debate. 1 more year of wasted time will only benefit the country.

I'm with you michigan man; another year of wasted time is the best thing Americans can hope for at the moment! Thanks for stopping in!

We all know now that Barry and his progressive co-conspirators will do whatever they damn well please. We are just too stupid to understand their amazing intelligence. Read my latest hub, it hits on these same points. I wrote and saved my hub, and the hubteam will publish it for me--I hope by tomorrow. We are trying to figure out the problem with my account because when I publish for myself, nobody is receiving a notification.

Thanks for stopping in Sheri; I had the same problem twice; published hubs with no one being notified. I went on ask a question and suddenly it got straightend out. I'll look forward to reading your hub.
