Deception, Disease and Death-Does Monsanto Control The World?

Updated on August 21, 2013

The Low Down

Monsanto is one of the largest corporations in the world.

I would be willing to bet that every food item you have eaten today had Monsanto's "touch" on it in one way or another.

For years now Monsanto has been playing god and genetically "playing" with seeds and animals.

I am probably "pushing" some fine lines in publishing this hub. It seems Monsanto is a "superpower" in this world of ours.

I have watched over the years as farmers have been paid by our federal government to not plant in some of their fields and at the same time, their yields are more than what they had planting all fields. I have watched milk not taste like the milk tasted when I was a child. I have seen odd diseases and concerns over food production. Mad cow disease and contaminated vegetables is everywhere.

Have we created a monster?

Monsanto employs many people. Monsanto "pays" our farmers.

I recently watched the following video. It seems that Monsanto owns Rupert Murdoch and FOX news also. I thank God that we do have reputable reporters that spilled the beans.

The Answer

What is the answer?

How do we stop the monster?

I know many will say to boycott Monsanto products. For many, to do that would mean starvation.

Monsanto has done a lot of "good" in third world nations. There are crops growing where no crops have grown before.

They have their share of critics though.

Monsanto has been caught dumping toxic waste in the United Kingdom; they were found using child labor in India. They have been "busted" bribing officials in some countries and worst of all they had inside help from the F.D.A. Read this from Wikipedia:

In order for the FDA to determine if Monsanto's growth hormones were safe or not, Monsanto was required to submit a scientific report on that topic. Margaret Miller, one of Monsanto's researchers, put the report together. Shortly before the report submission, Miller left Monsanto and was hired by the FDA. Her first job for the FDA was to determine whether or not to approve the report she wrote for Monsanto. In short, Monsanto approved its own report.

I don't have an answer. Do You?

I want to know that my children, grandchildren an so forth are safe. I didn't think I would have to worry about a corporation that started right here in St Louis.

I pray that officials high in power with Monsanto will take a hard look at their place in this world. Is it all about the money?? How about thinking of future generations?

I seek all comments and suggestions--How do we stop or at least control the monster named Monsanto?

Great job here. My mouth retains the bad taste put into it by Monsanto (and similar corporations). I believe we have created a monster. No one individual is responsible for the downright evil (imho) acts visited upon life by Monsanto -- but as an entity they are far too powerful and profit-driven.

This seeking of monetary gain has come at the expense of the lives and/or livelihood of people around the world, their own employees included. The only thing I know to do is write, write, write. Write articles & hubs, write to local and federal representatives, write to Monsanto (be warned, though, this usually results in a condescending form letter with coupons for some of their lovely products..).

      Thanks for this.

Where I live there used to be a lot of dairy farmers, now there are none. Canada refused to use the growth hormone. You did a good job on this hub
