Democratic and Republican Convention Faces in the Crowd

Updated on October 09, 2010

Faces at the Democratic convention in Denver were happier, scruffier and much more diverse than those at the GOP convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul where the crowd was whiter, older and apparently angrier. The TV camera kept panning back to what appeared to be the only two or three minorities at the GOP event in between focusing on the Wall Street, Nieman Marcus, American Legion and NRA crowd that populated the Republican audience. In Minneapolis. 10-gallon Texas cowboy hats and American Legion caps were popular with the GOPers. Quite a few empty seats were in evidence at the the much smaller GOP arena site in Minneapolis-St. Paul than at the Dem convention in Denver.

This is one photo gallery that I really like LOL--thanks Ralph. I agree that the RNC crowd looked like a big loaf of Wonderbread. Will you be doing a photo gallery of it too? complete with silly elephant hats?????

Unfortunately I didn't have access to a high definition television screen for the GOP convention.
