Diversity in the US

Updated on February 25, 2011

It’s hard to say what makes the US the most ethnically diverse society in the world. I think it comes largely from immigration. The American way of life has often been long sought after by people from other countries.  Foreigners immigrated long ago in hopes of having or establishing a better life for themselves and their children.

Its been said that Hispanic and Mexican Americans have become the dominant minority group in the United States and I believe its true. It’s been argued for that this came to be based on religion wherein Catholics do not believe in birth control. Hispanic and Mexican cultures have spread throughout the country and  society has monopolized this by enjoying and sometimes encouraging their foods, social customs and language, just to name a few.

In the future, I am not sure there will be a dominant group with all the interracial relationships currently evolving everyday. I think this is quite possibly the best thing for the entire planet. With all the hate and racism that is rampant in the world itself, I often wish that we could just fast forward a couple hundred years. Perhaps by then people will all be the same color due to interracial relationships and then race won’t even be an issue.
