Do You Know How Your Stimulus Money Was Spent?

Updated on February 4, 2012

Stimulus money spent to “create” or as the Obama administration likes to say using their new economic terminology, “save” jobs: $157.8 BILLION

Cost of each job “created”: $246,436

Average earnings by a payroll employee during October 2009: $59,867

Cost of the damages the Obama administration has inflicted on this country:

The stimulus money has created very few private sector jobs. What it to create these jobs is obscene. According to the Obama Administration’s own numbers, statistics show from February 2009 through October 2009, 640,329 jobs were created.

I’m not very good at math, so I’m referring to the experts to do the math for me.

That amounts to $246,436 per job based on the $157.8bn that has been awarded so far! Total compensation earned by the average payroll employee during October, on an annualized basis, was $59,867.

The example I’d like to give today as another very good reason this stimulus hasn’t worked, and won’t work in the future is this:

Feds Spent $800,000 of Economic Stimulus on African Genital-Washing Program.

When the federal government gets into the business of taking money from its citizens and dispensing it for absolutely outrageous programs such as this one (obviously there are many, many more such programs our tax dollars are wasted on) it is wrong. It has been far to many years that this has been going on.

This is not what our federal government constitutionally should be taking our taxes for:

“Section 8. The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States…”

I wish someone could show me where in that section it gives the Federal Government the right to take our tax money to give to UCLA to teach men in Africa how to wash their private parts. If someone can tell me how this defends our country or is good for the general welfare of the United States I need to be told. Because I’m just not seeing it.

Vote this November. No matter what it takes – no matter how busy you are no matter how much of a pain it might be to get yourself to your voting booth or get an absentee ballot. Do it.

We need to fix our federal government from the bottom up. We need to then focus on our public school system as well and take out the unions then fix our schools from the bottom up. I say overhauling our schools is next in importance because the liberals have taken over our schools for over a generation now. They are broken and our children are brainwashed today as they have been for years with liberal agendas.

They need to get back to learning American History the way it actually happened instead of liberal revisionist history. The children need to be taught to read good, classic books, not “Fidy Cent” and his newest biography – from thug to Rapper Thug.

The children of our nation need to be taught once again with an emphasis on the basics. Reading, writing and arithmetic. Period. We must have schools that teach rather than brainwash in progressive, socialist garbage.

The schools need to be taken away from the unions and never unionized again. We need to raise up a generation of children who can think for themselves so that we never again elect another Pelosi, Reid or Obama again. Ever.

Great article! To put it in perspective, the average American will work his or her entire life and never even remotely pay enough taxes to fund the African Genital Washing Program. Spending our hard-earned tax dollars on programs like this is outrageous.

The singular thing that irks me most about the stimulus spending package is that George Soros predicted that it would happen even before the 2008 election. And of course, once his candidate was in place they carried it out on an even greater scale. We could have put a man on the corner sidewalk handing out money and had more impact on the economy. Apparently the President and his cronies have never been to business school, maybe not even to school period. I have never seen a man so lauded for his intelligence who is so willing to do one stupid thing after another. Either something is seriously lacking here or we have a case of intent to defraud the American public. We sit and watch one George Soros program after another come up through the legislative process and then it gets put before the people in a high state of emergency touting the urgency to pass it and save our country. In truth, it is being destroyed one brick at a time. Soros knows it. Obama knows it. Reid knows it but I seriously doubt that Pelosi has a clue. After all, this is the woman who believes that unemployment is good for the economic. You could sell her high-heel shoes in a blizzard but only if they were of really good snobbish quality and made in one of her sweat shops down in American Somoa. America has never been so crawling with sleaze in the infrastracture of our government and Obama adds more to it every day. He may have been elected as the American Idol President but he needs to be voted out in a Stevie Wonder election...all ballots in braille to aid the far too numerous blind voters around today in America. Thanks for a good write and good luck with the SI! WB

Unions are actively working to undermine and weaken this nation on a daily basis. This regime has no interest in helping anyone except those who support them with clueless adulation!!

Actually any incumbent in Congress should be able to explain how the stimulus helped the country and where and how all of the stimulus money went.

No new speeches and promises, just explain their record and how their part helped us.

Excellent piece of writing. I believe what is happening now is the direct result of an education system that has been going downhill since 1967 and politicians who once elected forget who put them there and why they are there . Obama should never have won this election if the electorate processed the facts that were out there about him. Complacency and a refusal to really see who he was got us into this mess. Voted awesome!
