Do You Think That the Democrats Want to Stop School Shootings?

Updated on July 1, 2018

What do you think Now?

Democrats and Shootings and Gun Control.

Do you really think that the Democrat Party wants to stop school shootings, or any kind of mass shootings?

If you said yes, then what is that answer based on?

  • The bottom line is that they have many chances to write gun control laws and what did they do? Nothing!

--------------------------

Is it based on the Democrats coming out after every school or even other kinds of mass shooting saying the we need to protect the children. And their answer to protecting the children is gun control.

When the Republicans that were playing baseball last summer and they shot? Did the Democrats come out and talk about gun violence and the need for gun control. Why should they, the injured parties here were not school children, or even democrat voters. They were their opponents in congress, so it didn't matter. Some democrats has publicly wished that these Republican congress members would have died.

Then, in support of your yes answer about the Democrat Party wanting to stop school shootings, you say they have always been against the gun owners, and especially the NRA. To the democrats the NRA is responsible for these consequences of these shootings.

It is true that the Democrats always come out publicly to denounce the gun owners, and always talk about gun control. What they don't talk about is that we already have gun control and we have had it for a long time.

Of course, they say that the gun control laws are not restrictive enough, and that is why these shooters can get and use the weapons in these school shootings.

Here is an interesting FACT, that will shed light on the democrats and their whining about Gun Control.

From 2009 to 2011, which political party controlled congress.

Yes, you are right, it was the Democrat Party. They not only controlled it, they had a super majority of 60, and with that majority they could pass any gun control law they wanted to because the Republicans would be out voted every time.

Here is the big question, during the period of 2009 to 2011 why didn't the Democrats pass whatever Gun Control Laws that they deemed necessary to not only stop mass school shootings, but any kind of mass shootings?

The FACT is that they didn't pass any Gun Control Laws, and if that was the Republican Party the Democrats would have blamed them as they do for each and every death of a school child killed by a gun.

But because it was the Democrats themselves that were the ones that could have passed a Gun Control Law to prevent the school shootings, we don't hear about it. We only hear about the Republicans, the NRA and their protecting the gun owners.

When you said Yes that the Democrat Party really wants to stop mass school shootings, or even a single shot shooting at schools, did you realize that they could have prevented this school shooting in Parkland Florida.

Well at least according to the decades that the Democrat Party has been giving us their solution to preventing mass school shootings in the form of more Gun Control. During 2009-2011 the Democrat Super Majority Controlled US Congress could have easily passed any Gun Control Law that they deemed that would prevent these mass school shootings.

Doesn't it then follow that because they didn't pass their more restrictive Gun Control Laws, they and not the Republicans or the NRA were responsible for the deaths of these children.

In Reality, this Parkland Florida school shooting wouldn't have been stopped by any Gun Control Laws. Just because Cruz legally purchased this weapon doesn't mean that with a more restrictive Democrat Sponsored Gun Control Law that Cruz couldn't have gotten an illegal gun, of even the same kind.

Could that be one of the reasons why when the Democrat Congress could have passed their Gun Control Solution they chose not to do it. That reason being they knew that it wasn't a solution, and once they passed their law any future shooting would be owned by them. Doesn't that make more sense?

They know Gun Control is not the solution for these random but predictable mass school shooting, as well as mass shootings of any kind. Now that you all know about this Democrat choice not to pass their Gun Control Law when they could, do you still think they really care about stopping these mass school shootings?

The tragedies are real and I take strong issue with them. But a party line about guns is silly. If a right minded person were to kill people like these they would use a bomb. Of course that would not be right minded. But far more effective than a gun.

Thanks. The article wasn't about the cause of gun violence, but about the Democrats who constantly bring up Gun Control every time there is a shooting. And when they could have implemented those gun control laws, they didn't.

And I agree the mental state of the shooters is the core of the problem, and gun control is not going to change it.

I have written other article where I talk about the futility of gun control.

Gun control is a deep, deep rabbit hole that both sides need to take a better look at themselves in regards to but that said, I've stated the same thing to those who want to blame the Republican Party, NRA, Trump...it could've been changed. Mass shootings have occurred for decades, yes more so recently, but why now is it one party's fault or the other. The recent uptick has less to do with guns and more to do with the mental health of our society. No one wants to go there because it is a much bigger bear and would require many to self reflect and even give up things that contribute to this decline in happiness we face.

I'm a gun owner and I believe there are things regarding guns that don't make sense and could use some tightening up for sure but I don't relate those issues to the increase in violence whether it be gun related or not.
