Wars In The World Today

Updated on January 19, 2017

Learning To Love God and Each Other Will End Wars

The answer on how to end wars, is not complicated. Perilous times exist where greed, ruthlessness and insensitivity are predominant. Egotism makes it impossible for men to get along with each other. The elimination of these deceptive characteristics could lead mankind into a peaceful relationship based on love. Imagine a time when man will learn war no more because we have learned to love each other. Many will read this article and other information similar to it and say, "impossible!" You could then conclude, that this writer is neither realistic or living in the real world today. Let us carefully consider this wonderful world of reality and war.

One of the longest wars in the history of America was fought in Afghanistan. There were over 30,000 troops at war within that country. Thousands risked and gave their lives. Mothers and fathers fought side by side in Afghanistan, leaving their young children at home with little hope. A comment was made during an interview on the television show, #Good Morning America as they expressed how only, "61% of the Afghan people believe that one day they will have peace." Their lack of optimism is quite obvious. During one of the interviews, an Afghan woman who is considered to be like #Oprah confessed, "I carry my cell phone and a gun." She receives threatening telephone calls because of her discussions concernng divorce and other issues. Her television show teaches men not to beat their wives. My heart went out to this woman, because what will happen to her now that the majority of troops have departed? Women already experience beatings and lower pay in the range of 48 cents a day. How sad it will be if, after all the loss of lives, time and money spent from taxpayers to finance this war, Afghanistan continues to be ruled by the talaban. This would be devastating for the Afghan people. American soilders would return home not victorious but defeated, if this were to happen. My heart and prayers go out to these people because after all this time, the Afghanistan war may not have been winnable.

Sadly, terrorist acts have consumed our news headlines. The #War on Terrorism has received tremendous blows. Recently, at least three men were on the run after slaughtering more than twenty three tourists in #Tunisia. Some of the tourists were gunned down on a tour bus before they could enter the Tunisia Museum. Others were killed in the museum. "At the moment of this attack, they were working on an anti terror bill," stated Mabroukika M. Bare, a former member of #Tunisian Parliament. A #CNN Live news correspondent stated, "This is one of the deadliest attacks on tourists over a decade." Terrorism of this magnitude has become a wake up call for the people not only in Tunisia but all over the world. #Soft targets such as locations where tourists gather whether it is a market place, religious facilities or wherever people may meet, could become locations for terrorist attacks in the future. What a depressing thought for all humankind in the future. If not careful, we could end up like scared prisoners within our homes with no guarantee that we are safe there. How thankful I am that my faith and reliance is on the most powerful God that exist and that is #Jehovah God. He is more powerful that any terrorist groups in the world. That is where true peace resides if we trust and put faith in him and Jehovah's powerful king, #Jesus Christ.

Our world of reality is depressing. Even when we put trust in and create such organizations as the #United Nations, which based on its charter states, "WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, . . ." What an inspirational attempt to bring international peace and security. For 65 years this organization has struggled to protect and encourage friendly relations within each nation. Some critics have outwardly expressed its failure. Although the answer is obvious because we see constant wars with millions contuning to die. So what is the answer?

While on earth Jesus demonstrated his ability to teach us how to love one another. That love would truly help us avoid such imperfections as #selfish ambition, deception and hunger for power. Each of us have heard the well known words, "Love never fails." Jesus believed these words which was taught to him by his #Heavenly Father Jehovah God. That is why Jesus stated, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another," John 13: 34 of The Holy Bible Revised Standard Version. Constantly, Jesus spoke about this love because it was taught by Jehovah; that if we learn to love each other this would be the solution to our problems today.

If we truly practice love, wars would cease. If we seriously took into consideration the prayer billions of us have spoken just as Jesus did when he requested, "Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven," Matthew 6:8, 9 and 10. How vital it is that we learn what conditions we are praying for within that prayer. If we really want conditions to be on earth as they are in heaven, we must learn the true meaning of love. Learning to love one another will end wars and make us happier people. The insatiable desire for material things and power which is often the cause of war along with false religious beliefs has diminished us to nothing but sorrow and pain. Now it is up to us individually to discover how the power of love can and will change the world. Will you be a participant of this tremendous hope for the future? Think and pray carefully about this beautiful attribute of love. It is our only hope for the future to live in a world without war.
