Evangelicals Christians Are Now Labeled As Extremists By The Department of Defense...
My beloved brother, through an e-mail, recently brought to my attention the disturbing news, yet not unexpected, that the Department of Defense (DOD), in one of its training seminars, has labeled Evangelical Christians - like said brother and I - and even some Catholics and Mormons… as extremists like al Qaeda… and mind you, at the very top of the extremists food chain even before Bin Laden and his cohorts. Now, what is it that the Evangelical Christians have done to warrant the extremist label by the Department of Defense? I suspect, nay with certainty, I say that Evangelicals have done nothing… but only, I believe, to decide not to walk in lock-step with President Obama’s Administration on the gay marriage issue by the former noising the contrary belief that marriage, ironically, plainly taken from the Bible, should be between a man and a woman. And by the way, I have not, nor any of my Evangelical friends I know, have advocated killing anyone that supposedly an Apostate because of said Evangelical beliefs for there are no equivalent Jihad clauses in Christ’s Gospel… believe me, we have searched the Bible.
So what are some of the beliefs of typical Evangelicals, which are considered extremists: we believe the Bible is the actual and the only Word of God through His Son the Christ; we believe that Life starts at conception, ergo, our fervent pro-life position on Abortion; we believe that Jesus is the only way to God (see John: 14-6); in addition, if all other religions were the same… why would the Disciples leave Israel to preach the Gospel in Greece, Rome, and India - all of whom had their respective alphabet soups of gods/religions? As for the homosexual issue, more than once in the Bible, Jesus mentioned it as the barometer of terrible moral behavior that is beyond the pale… but He also mentioned other moral sinful behaviors that are going to be judged in the next life far worse than the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah; these behaviors included hurting children and not adhering to Jesus’ Gospel; and lastly, we put no credence into Darwin’s Evolutionary theories, taking a mostly literal take on what God says in the Bible.
I am an avid watcher of the so called religious channels, be it TBN or Day-Star here in New York and my favorite preachers, like Bishop Roberts at my own church, are Evangelical Christians… and surprisingly, I have not heard anyone of them mentioned that I should kill innocents, ironically, even those who do not believe as we do (Apostates). When I am employed, I personally give much to charity, as commanded by the Word of God, yet my wife and I do not have a criterion that says that those who receive our succor have to be Christians, much less Evangelicals. On any given Saturday, for years now, my beloved wife goes and feeds the homeless - she never once said that she wants to quit because the homeless recipients are not Christians or moreover because they are not Evangelicals.
Now, are those of us who consider ourselves Evangelical Christians morally perfect – of course not… but though we may engage, Jesus forbids, in Sinful acts - and I mean those acts that are so deemed in the Bible - do not make said acts morally ok. To further flesh out my thoughts… no matter that we may enjoy gossiping, lying, dishonoring our parents, worshipping false gods, bearing false witness, sleeping with another man’s wife, sleeping with the same sex (homosexuality/lesbianism), sleeping with close relatives (Incest), having sex before marriage (Fornication), and sleeping with animals (Bestiality) it is simply all wrong because it says so in the Word of God.
It is true that Jesus did not judge the woman who was about to be stoned for her adulterous acts, but we conveniently always forget that Jesus told that lady to go and sin no more; we also forget too that when Jesus met the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well… who He then told that she had 'hooked up' with numerous married men - that the Savior also told her to go and sin no more.- all of these behaviors by these women were considered sinful acts by the Christ, but, somehow, not so for same sex relationships. Christians… I harp on this same sex issue because it is the catalyst driving almost every aspect of our mores and it is the cornerstone as to why I think that Evangelicals are now being labeled extremists like any terror group by the Department of Defense.
I admonish you to read your Bible for yourselves and you will know what is taking place in America and that it is not novel. I venture to say that there will come a time when the perverted “shine” or notoriety will be off the same sex issue, whereby, currently, everyone is clamoring to say that they are gay or that they support these unions… soon they will be clamoring about how they are having relationships with animals or with one’s sister or brother… after all, The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is already elevating animals to the status of human beings… with all the attendant rights of the latter.
The labeling of Evangelicals as extremists is but a symptom and a fulfillment of prophecy that the Lord Jesus warned us about in the entirety of the Gospel of Matthew… that perilous times will come and that because they hated Him then… that the world will hate us too. I will noise again, as a form of admonishment, that anytime there are issues - including Abortion and same sex marriage - where the secular messiah (President Obama), Hollywood, and the world in general agree on… more than likely those positions are against the teachings of Christ Jesus. In Matthew, Jesus warned us that the world’s ending will be just like in the days of Noah… whereby among the happenings was that they were giving themselves in marriage (Matthew 24:38) - surely, those who are getting married now in droves are not heterosexuals - but gays.
I tell you a mystery that when Jesus, before He came in the flesh, destroyed the world via Noah’s flood, He spared eight people: Noah and his wife, along with Noah’s three sons and their respective wives… and if that does not drive the point home… God/Jesus commanded Noah to pair up the animals (male and female) to replenish the earth - I can guarantee you that no homosexual or same sex animal acts took place on that Ark… incidentally, should I further speak on the inhabitants of the Garden of Eden… or to quote my beloved mother who said that she does not recalled reading anything about Adam and Sodom in God’s Genesis creation.
