Evangelicals: the world's most powerful political machine

Updated on January 27, 2017

Evangelicals: diehard Christians

Deuteronomy 6:16 "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah" (NASB).

Luke, Chapter 4, verses 1 through 15,

"And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost

returned from Jordan,

and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

Being forty days

tempted of the devil.

And in those days

he did eat nothing:

and when they were ended,

he afterward hungered.

And the devil said unto him

"If thou be the Son of God,

command this stone

that it be made bread."

And Jesus answered him,

"It is written,

That man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word of God."

And the devil,

taking him up into an high mountain,

shewed unto him all the kingdoms

of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said unto him,

"All this power will I give thee,

and the glory of them:

for that is delivered unto me;

and to whomsoever I will

I give it.

If thou

therefore will worship me,

all shall be thine."

And Jesus answered

and said unto him,

"Get thee behind me,

for it is written,

Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,

and him only shalt thou serve."

And he brought him to Jerusalem,

and set him on a pinnacle of the temple,

and said unto him,

"If thou be the Son of God,

cast thyself down from hence:

For it is written,

He shall give his angels

charge over thee,

to keep thee:

And in their hands

they shall bear thee up,

lest at any time

thou dash thy foot against a stone."

And Jesus answering

said unto him,

"It is said,

Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."

And when the devil had ended all the temptation,

he departed from Jesus for a season.

And Jesus returned

in the power of the Spirit

into Galilee:

and there went out a fame of him

through all the region

round about.

And he taught in their synagogues,

being glorified of all."

Evangelicals are a complicated lot. They profess to believe every verse written in the Holy Bible, word for word, literally. They do not see the Biblical scriptures in terms of metaphors. No! Everything written is the Bible is the Word of God, literally. Not to be "added to", or "taken away from it," no not even a single word or idea.

(Allow me to say, up front, that not all Evangelicals supported the lies and the Hateful behavior that accompanied the Ugly Election Days. Not all Evangelicals are bad people. Period!)

However, during President Trump's campaign for President of the United States, I witnessed "diehart Evangelicals," from the lowest of them, "who just go to Church and just sit in the pews out of habit", to the highest of them, Pastors, who preached from pulpits, behaving as hypocrites. These professed Holy Evangelicals lied and committed great sins against their Almighty God as they worked, diligently, practicing sinful behavior, to get their candidate, Donald Trump, elected to the office of President of the United States of America.

One Evangelical, a guy that I considered a friend of mine, tried to convince me that Hillary Clinton was a "Child Molester," and that she encouraged abortions well into the third trimester, even well into the 9th month of pregnancy. I asked, "where did you get this information." He said, "from the press." I did not know that a "Fake Press" existed at the time that this "well-educated, Evangelical preacher, with a Master of Divinity and a M.A. degree to boot, shared this hateful information with me. Deep in my mind, something told me, "this is a lie, do not believe this stuff." Common sense tells you that Hillary Clinton wound never molest a child. Why, Hillary has spent the better part of her life working on behalf of Child Welfare. No matter who you vote for, common sense tells you that Hillary Clinton would never commit such crimes against God and against Humanity.

The scriptures that I gave to you, at the beginning of this discourse, concerning, first, the Jews in Old Testament days, and later, concerning Jesus' temptations by the devil, are meant to illustrate the character that one needs to resist the temptations of Satan. Satan will lead one to commit grave sins against one's fellow creatures.

Old people, when I was a child, used to talk about "people selling their souls to the Devil," to get whatever they wanted to have. Old people knew that the Devil had great power and could give great gifts. The Devil can even influence the outcome of a election such as the one that Donald Trump just won. Today he, President Trump, just finish his first week as President of the United States of America.

You may notice that there is a Curse hanging over our Great Land. There were people who sold their souls to the Devil to get Mr. Trump elected. A "Black Cloud" is hanging over America. Old people used to say, "God don't like Ugly!" God help us! God is quick to forgive those who admit that they are wrong, sincerely repenting of their sins. However, the people who lied and did all kinds of evil deeds to get President Trump elected will never admit that they are wrong. They were willing to win, "by any means necessary." They have won. Mr. Trump is President of the United States of America. Nothing else matters to them. Nothing!

God Bless them! God bless America!

      Dear Sanxuary,

I stand in support of what you have said in the above post. I see, clearly, what you have said in the above post. You are so correct, there are people, so called "Godly people," who will kill you or I for what we believe and write about. I must speak the truth. I have no other choice. Live or death is not a part of the deal. God promised us that he would "keep us" and this is all that I have. God bless you, my dear soul mate. God keep you, safe. I pray.

A friend just shared this thought with me: If you think fertilized eggs deserve protection but refugee children do not, stop saying your beliefs have anything to do with religion.
