Even former Democratic VP Candidate Lieberman recognizes a Marxist takeover when he sees one!

Updated on October 28, 2009

Harry Reid’s Public option is even too liberal for Sen. Joe Lieberman who says he will back a GOP filibuster if the healthcare reform bill contains a “public option”! This is a devastating blow to the Obama Oligarchies hopes of maintaining the charade of unified Democratic support for his government-run health care proposal.

Lieberman, who positions himself as a fiscal hawk told Politico he opposes any healthcare bill that includes the public option. He went on to say “we're trying to do too much at once," adding he’d vote against a public option plan “even with an opt-out because it still creates a whole new government entitlement program for which taxpayers will be on the line."

Without Lieberman and several other moderate Democrats, Reid falls short of the 60 votes needed to advance the bill out of the Senate. Also, Maine Republican Susan Collins, who had indicated interest in trying to pass a bipartisan bill this year, issued a statement underscoring her opposition to "a taxpayer-subsidized, government-run health insurance company."

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said “I think an overwhelming majority of Democrats are in favor of the public option." In an effort to find ways to make this proposal seem revenue neutral House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is pushing to tie payment rates to providers to the rates Medicare pays! Physicians, who haven’t had an increase in Medicare fee reimbursement for seven years are already hurting. The fees they receive for treating Medicare patients are 40% less than the fees they receive for treating non Medicare patients.

Physicians costs and the purchase of new equipment necessitated by advances in medical technology coupled with inflation and increases in malpractice premiums has risen anywhere from 6 percent to 10 percent a year! This translates into a 50 percent to 60 percent actual pay cut the past seven years. Now in order to pay for this health care debacle congress is proposing Medicare payments to doctors be further cut by 21 percent in 2010 and by about 5 percent in each of the next few years. If such cuts occur, fewer doctors will accept Medicare patients! So just who would treat this additional 15 to 40 million new patients proposed to be covered by this new Health Care Proposal!

Why are both the House and Senate struggling to complete work by year's end on Health Care Legislation. In the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel “you never want to let a crisis go to waste”! In other words, time is running out and the American people are waking up; if they don’t get Government Controlled Health Care now, they may never have the opportunity to get it again!

Very astute; Olympia Snow; direct descendent of Benedict Arnold, is indeed in there too. However in this case she is temporarily professing to do the right thing; vote against ‘Hang Em High Harry” if there’s a public option. But, she’s about as reliable as Mike Nifong at a Duke Lacrosse Players Defense Rally!

The public OPTION will not be kicked; the only ones being kicked here are "WE THE PEOPLE"! And yes there will be no Drs. Left to treat their sorry (Democratic symbols) but like Alfred E. Newman says “what me worry”, they will have stolen enough to fly off to where the Drs. Will have moved to!

      Thanks Pop

Unfortunately the public option is their end game and will be a part of this farce if passed. Remember their modus operand is subterfuge and obfuscation, “how do we fool them today. And yes there will be no Drs. Left to treat their sorry (Democratic symbols) but like Alfred E. Newman says “what me worry”, they will have stolen enough to fly off to where the Drs. Will have moved to!

Isn't Olympia Snow there too? It's too early to tell, they are still behind closed doors, but then tomorrow is another day. Great Hub!

If he truly beleives it I applaud him. My concern that he is setting the field up for some concession. If so, he is no better than any other. He has been vocal about a strong military and is concervative in some things so I do admire him in many ways, there is just to much wheeling and dealing going on with this healthcare. Great Hub!

Great hub patriot. We have to hope that the public option gets kicked to the curb. I am outraged that these idiots in Congress are determined to stick it to us, the taxpayers, while they hold themselves above the fray. They will get to keep their plan for life. Of course, they may not have any doctors to take care of them, but that's another problem they don't recognize.
