Evil Among The Nation – A Killer From Within

Another tragic, unspeakable, horrific, evil again have struck the community of one of our towns in the United States of America. On Friday, December 14, 2012 a 20 year old man by the name of Adam Lanza killed his mother with an assault rifle then went to the Sandy Hook Elementary school located in New Town Connecticut and turned the gun on the youngest and the weakest of those among us those who cannot defend themselves killing 20 young children ages 6 and 7 and 6 adults of various ages including the principal of the school and wounded others. Some called the gun man deeply disturbed while others called the killer mentally ill. This so called mentally ill person took the time to take steps to destroy his computer hard drive before heading out to do as much damage and kill as many as he could. Let’s call evil by its proper name, and not cover it with candy coated terms like mentally ill, mental illness. It was only by the grace and mercies of God that many more lives were not taken because according to the news report the killer had enough ammunition (bullets) to kill all who were in the school and turned the gun on himself when he heard the sirens coming. There were other killing in the past few years of a gunman spraying a movie theater with bullets killing many and wounding others, other schools including universities have been the target of mass killings and the world wondered what happened, why did it happen, what lead the killers to go out and destroy the lives of innocent men, women, young adults and children.

This evil event has struck in the hearts and minds of people all over the United States and around the world as nations reach out to the relatives of the victims of this horrific tragedy. People traveled from various parts of the country to pay their respects and to see what they can do to help the victims. People are paying it forward by doing acts of kindness in memory of the children and adults who lost their lives in this senseless killing. Others go to church and pray for the victims and the families while Pastors, Ministers and congregation pray to God on behalf of the families, seeking guidance and consolation as the victims are buried. Tears are shed on behalf of the victims and their families, flowers line the streets on behalf of each victim, Christmas trees and images of angels are displayed on behalf of each victim and service dogs are brought in to help to put a smile on the faces of those grieving the loss while the community come together as one big family to embrace the grieving families. In all of this we see God’s goodness and kindness portrayed in the acts of kindness by strangers to the families as they go through their time of great grief at the loss of their loved ones, and what a loss it is. There are no words that can adequately express to the families how deeply sorry we are for what has happened in their lives.

The president of the United States, President Obama met with the families of the deceased and tried to comfort them, others prayed for the families and support came in. It is a hard thing to watch and to listen to as these reports on television tells of the tragedy but also of the heroism of those involved who tried to protect as many of these helpless victims and to save as many lives as they could and some in return lost their lives protecting the children. Our hearts and prayer go out to these families in their time of grief and sorrow and we cannot even begin to imagine how these families must feel because many of us have never lost a child to violence even though I’ve come close to loosing my children to auto accidents on several occasions. Long after the cameras are turned off and the dead are buried and we go back to our daily lives the loss of these victims will be felt for a lifetime by the families of this horrific senseless tragedy. Violence affects each and every one of us whether we are directly or indirectly involved or not. Many lawmakers talk about banning assault weapons, passing laws regarding gun control but remember, this man, this evil man did not purchase the guns himself, he used the ones that belonged to his mother who legally had them in her home, but this article will not be written regarding should we own guns or not. This article will deal with the evils of this world.

This tragedy should never have happened. Instead of looking forward to opening presents on Christmas morning the families of these beautiful children are burying them. These children never had the chance to grow up and become the all they could have become. We may have lost future doctors, researchers, pastors, teachers, educators and a host of other future professionals. Society have a lost more than we will ever know when these babies were gunned down by evil senseless violence, but most of all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents and other family members have lost the love of their lives, these beautiful smiling bundle of laughter, gone too soon. We wish we could turn back the hands of time and we wish we could return these children to their parents, alive and well, but we can’t. We all wish that day never happened and that it’s all a bad dream and we will wake up and things will be back to normal, but it’s not going to happen because things will never be the same again. It is a nightmare that will continue in the lives of the loved ones of these beautiful flowers, gone from this earth forever. May the Lord be with all the families during their time of grief, may he comfort them and grant them his peace that will carry them throughout this evil time in their lives of sorrow, grief and pain as they mourn the loss of their beautiful children, which was stolen from them and cut short by this evil turn of events.

Satan Brings Destruction And Death

Evil Has A Face

There have been many terrible evils throughout earth’s history.

The bible records in Matthew 2: 16 how a mad man by the name of Herod sent soldiers to kill all the male babies in Bethlehem of Judaea who were two years old and under because he was trying to kill baby Jesus. Herod didn’t care that about the parents who would be mourning the loss of their children, he didn’t care about the babies, he just wanted do find one baby so he killed all of them hoping to kill the one he was after. Now that’s evil. In verse 18 of Matthew the bible states that “In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted” (KJV) All those mothers and fathers who watched as ruthless soldiers slaughtered their children right before their very eyes and they were helpless to stop them as their babies were ripped from their arms and thrust through with spares and swords. These events happened over two thousand years ago and today the killing and slaughter of little children continues.

The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting is called the second most horrific shooting that have been carried out within the United States. Evil goes after the innocent not just in the United States but around the world. Schools seem to be a favorite place for this kind of violence and our children are not always safe. We hug them, kiss them, tell them we love them, we’ll see them later and we take them or send them off to school but sometimes that’s the last time we will see them alive. We must treasure the ones we love because we do not know from moment to moment if we’ll ever see them alive again.

Healthy Salad - What Are We Feeding Our Children?

What Are Our Children Watching And Reading

The media reported that this man, Adam is insensitive to the pain of others, no feelings at all. We put our children in front of the television day after day and they spend their time watching violence on the idiot box and a whole slew of other things they should not be watching. Even if the program these children are watching is so called age appropriate the commercials are enough to make a sailor blush. Profanity hits the air waves, half naked scantily clad women and men are paraded in front of our children day after day, sexual contents come shining through the commercials and our children are hypnotized by all of these. Some of the worse offenders in these commercials are the pharmaceutical companies parading their Viagra commercials and our children are exposed to such contents that are for mature audiences only. Our children watch horror movies, movies with adult themes and we think because they are in our homes they are safe. The internet is marketed at our children with the intent of stealing their young minds at an early stage and these children cannot discern between what is real and what is not, even adults when watching a horror movie, if someone comes up behind us and shout “boo” we jump and are frightened because the brain thinks that the person they are watching in the movie is right there beside them.

Children see blood almost everyday via the television so when they see it in real life it’s nothing to them. Some of these children have lost their ability to sympathize with others when they see them in pain because they have been desensitize by what they see on the television so when someone is in pain they cannot feel that other person’s pain. The young mind or brain of these children cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is not because watching television bypasses the frontal lobe where we make our decision, our seat of thinking and goes straight into the brain and the Devil is happy because he can now use these children at a later date to do what he wants them to do, it is evil by design. It is said that many producers and movie stars will not allow their children to watch television, yet we allow the television to baby sit our children.

We give our children books to read such as Harry Potter which teaches them how to become a witch or a warlock, where you have the good witch and the bad witch, the good warlock and the bad warlock; there is nothing good about witchcraft, there is no good witch and bad witch, no good warlock and bad warlock, there is not good evil or bad evil, evil is evil; we give our children the Harry Potter movies to watch and now our children want to become like their favorite character and we wonder what happened when they go out and try to practice what they have learned. Then there is the Twilight series about vampires and our children are captivated by it. God strictly forbid such things. In Isaiah 8:19 the bible states “When they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter, should not a people consult their God?...” (New American Standard Bible)

Our children become depressed when they watch things they not suppose to watch, they go through different stages of emotions when watching television in a matter of minutes they go from being sad, to being happy, to being depressed as their emotions changes to fit what they are viewing. It’s too much for a child’s mind to comprehend and when they grow up and go out and take the lives of innocent people we wonder what happened. We give our children violent video games to play and when they go out and practice what they have learned we wonder what happened. Children practice what they learn and the Devil knows this and if he can capture their minds while they are young he will have disciples for the rest of their lives unless the Lord steps in and extends his grace and mercy to them but he will not force himself on them or on any of us because God has given us the freedom of choice. Children need sunlight, they need exercise, they need nutrients to nourish their brains and their bodies yet we take our children to McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut and other fast food places and we fill them up with junk. We give our children junk food to eat from the supermarkets and snacks full of sugar and we expect that this will nourish their brains and when they become depressed from lack of nutrients, we fill them up with drugs to calm them down which continues to destroy their minds and when they go out and commit horrible crimes against society we wonder what happened. We give our children sodas such as mountain dew, Pepsi, Coco Cola filled with caffeine which is a drug, we give them food with nitrates such as hot dogs, bologna and other foods which destroys the brain and when they become depressed and hurt others we wonder what happen. We tell our children that they are the product of monkeys, evolution and a whole host of other explanations as to where they come when they ask where they came from instead of going to the bible where God said “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and where he said …. Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air…” and we neglect to tell them that “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created he them…. God saw that everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 31 (KJV).

We are a throw away society, we put our elderly parents into nursing homes and we lock them away and we forget about them. Young children and babies are raped, tortured, sold into slavery for various uses by evil ruthless men and women who profit from hurting them. Children are stolen every day, some are recovered and many are killed and tossed away like garbage and we should be very angry, yes very angry at all of this. (Now there are times when it may become necessary to place a loved one in a nursing home but there are many others in nursing homes that should not be there.) Police go undercover pretending to be young boys to catch sexual predators bent on having sex with young children with the intent of destroying them and we wonder, what happened. Teachers who are entrusted with our most precious treasure our children are raping them at alarming rates and we wonder how could this happen.

The Devil continues to prey on the smallest and the most vulnerable, weakest members of our society, our children. They (the children) cannot defend themselves so they are at a disadvantage and depend on those who are stronger than they are to protect them and to take care of them.

Dragon Cast Out

Condolences From Heaven To Earth

Jesus states in John 10:10 that “The thief commeth not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Yes the thief, the devil is a thief and a destroyer who plots to kill and to destroy the lives of each and every one of us. He doesn’t care who he uses to do his dirty deeds so long as he accomplishes what he’s after. These people are pawns that Satan uses to carry out his evil plots and we are fighting an enemy that we cannot see. We are in a war fare and unfortunately we get hurt, we get killed, we suffer and sometimes we die because this battle is real. The bible tells us that there was war in heaven (Rev. 12:7) and that Satan was kicked out of heaven and landed on our planet earth. Jesus stated that “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Luke 10:18, and in Revelation 12:9 the bible record states that “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Satan was thrown out of heaven by Jesus and he is angry, very angry because he knows that it’s only a matter of time before he will be destroyed when Jesus returns.

Revelation 12:12 sates that “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Satan is very, very angry and he walks about seeking whom he may devour. Peter wrote in 1 Peter 1:8 that we are to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.” When a lion wants to attack its prey it lets out a great roar which paralyzes its victims, then he sneaks up on them and attacks them and kills them, but he does not go for the strongest ones, he goes after the weakest ones who cannot defend themselves, the young ones. The devil attacks us where we are weak and he attacks those closest to us do us great harm because he is a coward. It is when we are at our weakest that he comes in like a flood and tries to destroy us; he uses discouragement and hatred and force to try to subdue us and to kill us or our loved ones. The devil would like some of us to think that he does not exist because it serves his purpose, but he is real and the bible says that he is. We know that he’s real because we see his evil work day after day after day in our lives and in the life of others not to mention that fact that he is a liar and the father of lies as Jesus states in the bible.

Jesus’ Love For Little Children

In the bible Jesus gives a warning to those who hurt innocent little children. His very words are “But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believes in Me, it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.” Mark 9:42 (Holman Christian Standard Bible.) Jesus was not joking when he spoke these words, we are to be very careful what we do and say to hurt one of these little children. So many times we are careless about the way we treat little children but it’s a serious matter for Jesus sent a warning to us when he stated that “…That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.” (KJV) Jesus loves little children and the bible records in Matthew 19:13 that mothers brought their children to Jesus for him to put his hands on them and bless them, and pray for them but Jesus’ disciples was trying to hinder the parents from doing so, but Jesus said “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus blessed the little children, they loved him and he loved them. Jesus took great pleasure in the company of little children and I’m sure they made him laugh just like they make us laugh.

Children are a joy and a pleasure to be around because they know how to light up a room and to make you feel better when you’re having a bad day. In Psalm 127:3 - 5 the bible records that “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:…” Yes dear readers, children are a blessing from the hands of the Lord, they were not meant to be a burden, they are to be a joy and a reward. They are the future generations who will one day be running this country and taking care of us in our golden years. They keep us on your toes and they keep us smiling even when we get upset with them. We are to treasure them and take care of them but we are not to spoil them. We are told to train them up in the way that they should go and the godly training that we provide will not depart from them, even when they are old. (Proverbs 22:6)

Children are our most precious assets far better than all the gold, rubies, silver and diamonds of this world they are a heritage from the Lord.

When our children are born, we are to take them to the church and present them to the Lord because he is their heavenly Father. In 1 Samuel 1 we see Hannah the wife of Elkanah who wanted to have children but was not able to because the bible records that the Lord had hut up her womb. While she was at the temple she prayed earnestly with bitterness of soul and wept before the Lord and the Lord heard her prayers and she had a son and called his name Samuel. When she had weaned him she presented or lent him back to the Lord, that baby that she prayed earnestly for became the prophet Samuel who God used in his service to lead the children of Israel and to guide his people. You may read about it 1 Samuel 1:1-28. We must remember one thing very important, our children do not belong to us, they belong to the Lord and he has given them to us for a short period of time for us to take care of. We must use that time effectively to train them, to nurture them, to love them, to protect them and to take care of them because they are on loan to us. The Lord has seen fit to entrust them to our care.

There Is Always Hope For A Brighter Tomorrow :)

There is Hope God Has Not Forsaken Us He Is With Us

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. Isaiah 43:2. (New Living Translation) God promises that even when we go through difficult times he’s right there with us all the way and we are to take him at his word because he is a God that can be trusted. God has given us words of comfort during times of trials. He has not left us to ourselves. God also promises that he would never leave us nor forsake us. (Deuteronomy 3:16). When we read the bible we are to apply the words of comfort to ourselves because God is also speaking to us today in our times of troubles and trials. There are times that we do not understand why the trials in our lives happen, why our loved ones are taken away from us but God states that we are to put our trust in him. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:56 (KJV) Again in Psalm 147:3 the Psalmist states that “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, do not be afraid of evil for God is with you, his rod and his staff they will be of comfort to you in times of trials. Psalm 23: 1-6. The bible also states in Psalm 36:1 that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Jesus bids us to come with all our trials and our burdens to him and he will give us rest. Matthew 11:28. We cannot see the beginning from the end and why God permits certain things to happen but he sates that “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” 1 Corinthians 13:12 (New Living Translation).

In 2 Corinthians 4:8 the bible states that “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed.”

Let us take hold of Gods promises, build our faith in him and learn to trust him completely.

Prayer: Our Father in heaven we ask that you look down upon us and forgive us of our sins. Give us understanding and guide us each day, direct us into your light and the truth of your words. Be with us each day and protect us from harm and evil. Help us to surrender our lives to you and accept the atoning sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

This is a very inspiring and up lifting article. Very well put together. It is a sad turn of events when children are involved in such violence and they have nothing to do with it. This world is so corrupt and its a shame to bring them up in such an evil world. All we can do is keep our children close and continue to pray for them and their future. This world is not our home.
