February Meeting

The second meting of the 2016 election year will be Thursday, February 4th at 6pm at Fairway Recreation Center at the corner of 107th Ave (Del Webb) and Peoria Avenue.

“The Arizona Democratic Party’s Executive Director, Sheila Healy, comes to Arizona most recently from the Texas Democratic Party, where she served as the Coordinated Campaign Director. In Texas, Sheila raised $1.2 million and managed several hundred staff members. Hailing originally from New York, Sheila got her start on the Obama campaign in 2007 in primary states throughout the country, spending the 2008 general election in Ohio and working for the 2012 reelection in Florida. Subsequently and in between, she has managed a nonprofit organization, directed access control for the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Field Directed a Pittsburgh Mayoral race, and run a successful Communications program for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Sheila is very excited to come to Arizona and run an expansive, data-driven grassroots operation that will move the needle for Democrats up and down the ticket.”

Mark your calendars now! You will not want miss this event.

President Obama State of the Union 2016

Democratic Club at Sundial

On Wednesday, January 20th the Sun City Democratic Party was well represented at the RCSC Newcomers Orientation at Sundial Recreation Center.

We gave away Democratic Huggs & Kisses (Hershey's huggs and kisses that is!) Nearly everyone loved getting chocolate from us. We also met many Democrats and Independents that are eager to STOP Republicans from taking over and taking the country backwards. Heck, there were even Republicans who stopped by to tell us they just could not vote for ANY of the leading Republican candidates.

The issues that were near and dear to their hearts were education, healthcare, voting rights, women's rights, dark money, stopping wars, and the economy. As President Obama outlined in his 2016 State of the Union speech, we are in a much better place here in the USA now than when he took over.

Most people understand this. Please see the link to the full State of the Union Speech above.

So many people were happy to talk to us and expressed that they find the Republicans to be mean. So, they refrain from telling their neighbors they are Democrats. In the morning session one table volunteer was sneered at as not having any moral values by a Republican. This type of behavior does need to be brought out to light. This is all I will say about it here.

Here are couple of the posters we had at the table. Enjoy!
