It’s very very sad news that Flood has destroyed all Pakistan specially Sindh Province . Approximately 26 Million people got infected from this Super killing flood. Government of Pakistan is not taking any serious action against this natural Disaster. 2500 People are died in gastro etc.But Sindh Government has decided to approach the federal government to ask for the immediate release of due funds for running routine matters. At a meeting held at the finance department, chaired by Provincial Finance MinisterCentral President of the Awami Tehreek Ayaz Latif Palejo has said that constitutional petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) Circuit Bench Hyderabad on Tuesday, seeking inquiry into embezzlement of funds issued for the flood victims and breaches that occurred in different embankments including Tori Bund. According to reports. He said in his petition maintained that inquiry should be initiated into breaches which occurred in different canals including Tori Bund and the concerned SHOs should be ordered to lodge cases against the involved persons. While talking to newsmen, He said that he had announced to file a petition, seeking inquiry into breaches and demanding compensation to flood victims.

SHC summons Director FIA. The Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Hyderabad issued a notice to Director FIA Hyderabad to appear before the court on the 12th of October, 2010 on Tuesday. According to report, Coordinator of the Human Rights Forum Sanghar chapter, Muhammad Khalid Qureshi in his petition maintained that the Post Office officials of Naunabad City district Sanghar are involved in misappropriation of funds issued for the Benazir Bhutto Income Support Programme (BISP). He appealed to the court to order an inquiry. Responding to the petition, the honorable court issued notice to Director of FIA to present details of funds.

While talking to media men the leaders said that Super Flood has caused huge disaster to Sindh and millions of people have been displaced. They said that they have distributed relief goods and tents amongst more than 1 million flood victims throughout the province. They said that they are struggling for the rehabilitation of flood victims. They said that flood victims are facing shortage of drinking water, in this regards they are striving hard to overcome the shortage of drinking water. They said that diseases are spread in the flood relief camps due to a lack of medical facilities. They said that they are providing medical facilities to the flood victims.

PTCL Authorities issues 200 connections to flood affecters in relief camps

200 connections of PTCL and Telephone Sets have been given to flood victims in relief camps in Hyderabad so that they can contact their relatives by Pakistan Telecommunication on Tuesday. While talking to newsmen, General Manager of the PTCL Hyderabad Region Engineer Abdul Raheem Shaikh during his visit in relief camp established by PTCL at Sachal Sarmast College Hyderabad said that 200 connections of PTCL and telephone sets have been given to the flood victims in Hyderabad Region, while total 415 connections have been provided throughout the province as they can contact with their relatives. He said that funds worth 10 million have also been provided to flood victims by PTCL. On the occasion, Director of PTCL Hyderabad Muzaffar Shaikh, Shafaf Ghirano, Basheer Phulpoto and others accompanied him.

About 38 more villages in Sehwan came under water on Tuesday as the level continued to go up in the Manchhar lake, water level continued to exert pressure on the lake embankment from Zero Point to Bubak on Tuesday. The water level in the lake reached 130.5RL (reduced level) till filing of this report on Tuesday night, just five inches below the top level. This was the same point close to Zero point 

Although the water level has crossed the original highest point of embankment, irrigation officials and area people, supervised by Sindh Finance Minister, continued to dump stones and bags of mud and raised the embankment 1.8 feet more from Zero Point of Main Nara Valley Drain. When water started overflowing, irrigation officials stopped heavy machinery because of weakening of a portion of the embankment and continued consolidating embankment by dumping stones and mud. Sindh Chief Minister presided over a meeting on Tuesday night to discuss the alarming situation at Manchhar lake and ways to divert to the Indus the floodwater coming from Tori bund breach and now accumulating in the lake and MNV drain. 

The meeting was attended by lawmakers from Dadu and Jamshoro districts, members of a committee set up by the CM and officials of departments concerned to suggest ways to release floodwater into the Indus river. Then Provincial Food Minister Nadir Magsi told reporters that condition of embankments at Manchhar lake was critical and it had been decided to make a way for water by making a cut in MNV drain and Manchhar lake. He said the committee had authorised the Sindh chief minister to take a decision. Sources privy to the meeting said the meeting had agreed to a proposal to breach the MNV drain at Zero point, adjacent to Manchhar. In a related development, the Taluka administration of Sehwan failed to supply drinking water to over 100,500 people of the town after the suspension of water supply from the Indus river as polluted water of Manchhar was released into it. Protest by residents, the taluka administration started supplying water from the Indus river temporarily. The district administrations of Jamshoro and Dadu have still not rescued over 50,350 people of Jhangara, Bajara, Chhinni, Shah Hassan and 87 villages who are facing shortage of food.
