Blue pill - blissful ignorance, Red pill - the sometimes painful truth
Blue pill - blissful ignorance, Red pill - the sometimes painful truth

All one has to do is read the news and it becomes blatantly obvious the great experiment started off well and with the right intentions but over the past 200-plus years has been tainted to the point of no return.

We have a sitting President who rules like a king and not an elected official of the people. We are allowing the influence of other nations to dictate U.S. national policy. We are quick to grant rights and privileges to various religious groups while in the same breath we take the same away from other religious groups. We have lost any rational understanding of the law and have let political correctness and feelings smother the truth. The average citizen knows little about the history of the country, what is actually in the Constitution, what holidays such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas are really for. And the list goes on.

Patriot groups and militia membership has increased over the past 10 years and the media and groups such as the ACLU, NAACP, SPLC and ADL have all done their part in to paint all these groups as hate and terrorist groups. Some are, but that broad painting is exactly how the government and these groups prostitute for each other. They are afraid. They know where the power lies - with the people - and no different that with Nazi Germany, an informed, unarmed citizenry is easy to control and manipulate.

Our government is quick to cover up their failings (Freeing multiple high ranking terrorists for what appears to be a deserter, the Bundy Ranch mess, the whole Benghazi debacle, Ruby Ridge, etc.) and yet consistently feed lies to the American people who are equally quick to call it truth. Add on their constant use of diversion and they again control the populace though smoke and mirrors.

Long and short - This country is broken and needs to be repaired and we need to be able get through all the smoke and mirrors and get to the cold hard facts. Our government has pulled a "Matrix" over us and we no longer live in the "real" we instead refuse to take the red pill, taking the blue one instead, and remain oblivious to the underlying actions of this screwed up government. The character of Morpheus in the film makes a statement to the character Neo, once Neo has entered the Matrix, and realizes what it is, that is directly akin to how the media and our government work. He said,

You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so injured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Over the past 200-plus years we have grown dependent on a system whose original design has been deviated from and now serves a more nefarious purpose. People don't want to be "unplugged" and really see what is going on. They are contented with what they think is the "real" and any alteration of that (eg. militias) are seen as evil and should be removed, when in fact, they are more the good guy than the government is. These still plugged-in people are the ones who voted for our current President not once, but twice, even when his lies and agenda are clearly against America.

Media bias is a major player in the brainwashing of America
Media bias is a major player in the brainwashing of America

There are plenty of groups, lumped in with the militias, that are clearly racist, hate mongering terrorists. They show their true colors by their actions. The government AND real patriot organizations call them out and distance themselves from them.

As of this writing, on of the top stories in the news is that of a man and a wife in Las Vegas who killed two police officers at a pizza joint and another man at a local Wal-Mart before the wife killed her husband then took her own life. Unfortunately, this story is fairly commonplace in our news world these days. But there is a catch to this story, and it is a prime example of how our country is brainwashed by the media, organizations and the government.

The couple, Jerad and Amanda Miller, both lived in a fantasy world of super-villains, even dressing as them. They had mental issues. But here is where it gets twisted. Because they also were pro-gun and anti-government they are instantly tied to the patriot movement in the United States and now are being used by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the mainstream media as the example of how all these groups must think and act.

An article in the Detroit Free Press glosses over the couples obvious mental issues and instantly goes on a rant, using the SPLC as their main source, about the problems with the growing militias and "Patriot" movements.

The whole article paints these two losers, who were racist, murderous hate mongers, as what obviously everyone else who is associated with any anti-government sentiment must be. Are American's REALLY that dense or so easily brainwashed into believing things from a single point of view?

This is nothing more than the government and groups that are aligned with them, feeling the threat of Americans who are actually standing up to them and holding them accountable for their actions, and they have lumped these informed, patriotic Americans into the same group as those groups that are nothing but outlets of hate and division. It is a bold-faced lie.

And that is the lie that now corrupts and clouds the real vision of what this country should be like.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I don't think anything I mentioned is conspiracy theories, they are noted facts - We freed terrorists for a soldier, which is against the no negotiation policy. Benghazi is again well documented and shows a failure on the administrations part to take action. The Bundy Ranch business shows that militia members had the power to hold of the government. Ruby Ridge is so well documented I won't even attempt to discuss it. You certainly can believe what you will, I will just politely agree to disagree. Thanks for the comments!

But all the things you mention are right wing conspiracies!

Then when I bring up 9/11, it's smoke and mirrors......

      Sorry--I think you are affiliated.

Lying government isn't conspiracy, it is documented fact. Smoke and Mirrors is what makes people think it is conspiracy.

And nope. I do not think that at all. I think things have been broken LONG before President Bush. We the people have let it happen. I am affiliated with no political party because I think the current two parties are corrupt from top to bottom. We have swallowed that blue pill and even though we know the red pill is out there, just like Cypher in the "Matrix" movie, we believe that ignorance is bliss.

But saying the gvt lies is what conspiracy theory is all about.

I take it you think Obama lies, Bush did not?

Obama acts like King, while Bush was good patriot?

I think they are responsible for not taking appropriate actions to control immigration and securing our borders.

I am not for conspiracy theories.

A clear, concise, and well-written description of the current, sad state of the United States of America, Nick. Well said and well done!
