GOP Hypocrites stay out of our lives
Hypocrites in the GOP
People on the right always wonder why bloggers get so excited when their leaders screw up. It is because they talk about it all the time. I do not care who is sleeping with whom but people on the right certainly seem too. What I care about is when our country’s leaders start railing against gays and talking about the sanctity of marriage and then they get caught with their pants down. I love that!
I understand that Democrats have their cads too, however, I never heard John Edwards talk about legislating anyone’s morality. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed gay-rights legislation three times. He fought against immigrant rights in the State of California and here he is bonking his little Guatemalan housemaid. They had a son and he hid it from the California people in one of the biggest farces in election history. If you cannot see the irony and hypocrisy in that you are blind.
John Ensign was a member of Promise Keepers and lived in a house where Senators and Congressmen met to have prayer and get counseling. Promise Keepers is a group that teaches its members, among other things, that they should be chaste in their marriages and that women are to be subservient to men. Ensign was a big proponent of the sanctity of marriage. He was having sex with his best friends wife. These people were so close that they owned houses in the same neighborhood and Ensign paid for their kids to go to the same school. The irony here is that the Promise Keeper has now destroyed two marriages. That is hypocrisy times seven.
Look at Newt Gingrich; he has been married three times. He left his first wife while she was ill. She requested the divorce according to his daughters and he was having a long affair with his wife now, while he was still married. All of this during a time when he was trying to impeach Bill Clinton for having oral sex with Monica Lewinsky. Talk about the ultimate in hypocrisy.
The hypocrisy is that these guys want to legislate what other people do in their bedrooms or their love lives. As I have written before, gay marriage is a civil rights issue and should be treated as such. All people have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness no matter their sexual orientation.
We should also decide what to do with millions of illegal immigrants in this country. We will not be able to deport them all. We have to come up with humane efforts to allow them to be in the country legally.
Finally, I will say it again; I do not care who Republicans
or Democrats sleep with as long as they do not try to judge others for their
intimate lives. That means that abortion should be an issue between a woman and
her doctor and not the US government. Who a woman has sex with an what she does with her body is for God to judge and not you.
If the GOP wants writers to stop picking on them about their sexual peccadilloes, they should stay out of the sexual lives of ordinary Americans.
