Do you have a Gun?

Do you own a firearm?

Guns, Guns, Guns...

Who knows? There is so much debate about this topic and yet there does not seem to be a clear cut answer.

Just today I saw a saying on another website that said, "Why would you give up your car when others wont give up drunk driving. Then why would we give up guns when the people who are committing crimes with them give up theirs." That would just about summarize my opinion on guns.

From the fact that we use them for sport such as target shooting, hunting and for protection.

Target shooting: Several different guns can be used depending on what type of target you are shooting at and what type of gun that you have.

Hunting: There are gun laws in place to regulate the use of guns, while hunting and licenses have to be purchased depending on what animal you are hunting. There are things such as a limit to how many of a particular animal can be killed. Depending on the animal being hunted, would depend on the ammunition and what gun that would carried.

The US Constitution Says....

The Second Amendment to the US Constitution, was formally accepted December 15, 1791. Below comes directly from that amendment so judge for yourself. It's a touchy subject because you want to be able to protect yourself and your family. On the other hand, Criminals are killing with guns at a brisk clip.,

It states a well regulated militicia being necessary, to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

What About School Protection?

I can see both sides of the story or both sides of the argument which ever way you would like to say it. No matter what side your are on, we can all agree that this is going to be a much debated topic for many years to come.

I do understand the argument from parents that says they wouldn't want guns in school to teach violence in schools. On the other hand having one or two armed guards could be justified after all these senseless killings have occurred.

The other side to that agument is that kids are getting killed around this country from the principle and teachers not being allowed to carry guns.

The arguement to allow guns is school is to make the students feel more safe about their learning environment.

After 9/11 happened, pilots are allowed to have guns in the cockpit. Why should we not be allowed to have the same protection? One thing is for sure. These are just ideas and thoughts because I know for a fact I do not have all the answers but man, I sure wish that I did.

The Right To Bare Arms!

Americans should be able to protect themselves with firearms is the point of this message. Their is a saying that goes, " If you outlaw guns then only the outlaws will have guns".

Areas Where Metal Detectors Should Always Be

Schools
Colleges
Banks
Stadiums
Courthouses
Police Stations
Civic Centers
Large Gatherings

8 Areas that should always have metal detectors in place for the safety of innocent Americans.

Will More Metal Detectors and Security Help?

Of course, this will not solve the entire issue but, stepping up security might be just enough of a deterent to help keep kids safe at school, sports fans safe at sporting events, court houses and civic centers. This might not be a huge deal to some but, just having those detectors in place might change the mind of the would be offender. Also, having security guards at crowded events may help catch some would be criminals. The safety of our citizens is at stake so we need to try anything including beefing up law enforcement.

Will Banning Firearms Help or Hurt Innocent Civilians?

Once again, who has the right or wrong answer? It's hard to know what to do in a difficult situation like this.

The banning of firearms may only hurt the people who need to defend themselves. On the same thought, we all know that criminals will never truly be rid of guns totally. So, there's always going to be gun violence unless of course, this was a perfect world. I saw a sign at a gun store recently that read, " If guns are outlawed then only outlaws will have guns". How true that statement is.

Gun Violence Is a Major Problem

Stats about guns that are a shame. It's important to protect ourself but it should be harder to get guns for security reasons because as it stands now it's easy to obtain a firearm at gun shows in certain areas in America.

Some people would call me a liberal, but I like to think of myself as a middle-of-the roader. I was raised in the Ozarks where everybody picked up a gun at a tender age, and shot their first squirrel by the time they were 10, so I don’t believe in gun control. Except for assault weapons, that is. I see no reason to use an assault weapon on a squirrel or a deer, or on a human being.

The Piers Morgan video made me want to throw up. The Brits are raised in an altogether different atmosphere from Americans, and they just don’t understand our violent history. Wasn’t his show cancelled? The senator may have had a valid point because there is such a thing as a pressure cooker bomb.

I do have trepidation about allowing school officials and teachers to carry guns in school. While it could save lives in the case of an attempted mass shooting, I wonder about the danger of stray bullets or bullets ricocheting and injuring or killing students instead. Our state has just passed a law allowing guns in schools and churches. The results will be interesting to watch.
