Obama the Long Legged Mac Daddy

Updated on February 23, 2010

I Hate Obama The Long Legged Mac Daddy!

Now that I grabbed your attention, yeah hate is a strong word. I actually don't know anywhere near enough to hate the man. I can say that I feel disillusioned but I don't live in the States anymore and am not up on all the current events anymore. Living in the UK means that I get my stories of what life is like in the States from BBC news and the Daily Show. I do love the 'Long Legged Mac Daddy' video John Stewart plays all the time!

On this side of the pond Barack Obama still has some popularity as a symbol. I guess for the UK and Europe that is a fine thing, all he needs to be is a symbol. I wonder if the people back State side realize how much he has improved the image of America and Americans internationally. When I moved to the UK I encountered a lot of anit-american hatred and was encouraged by many people to say I was from Canada!

Now I get asked what I think about Obama. It is a matter of curiosity and speculation for Brits (at least thats my experience). I don't actually think all that much of his time in office to date, to be honest. I don't know enough about what if any effect he is having on the daily stuff of life for americans. All I can really see about the man is that he is just another politician. Useless lot! Every single one.

Obama, A Politician?

Ok now that I have shared my deep ignorance of the true effect this man is having on the american people I will share what I do see. To be honest I see a diplomat trying to please all the people all the time. I do not have a fancy degree or anything like that but I was taught that you cannot please all the people all the time. I think this is what in political terms might be considered riding the fence.

I do not see a leader. Obama, I'm sorry really but come on, be a leader! If you are going to start death panels just bloody do it! If Bush had wanted to start death panels people would already be dead by now! I hated that man, hate is not a strong enough word to express my deep loathing for him but he was a leader. Bush could lead us into a devastating war we cannot really win because of its very nature and got two terms outa it too. Obama can't even lead us into imaginary death panels? (I really can't believe that anyone takes the death panels stuff seriously)

The office of president can easily be held by a half literate red neck with all the charisma of a baboons bottom so long as they can command a good mix of fear and respect. Obama is extremely literate, oozes charisma and has experiences of the world on an international basis. This international symbol of a man cannot command the fear and respect of the political world and this has created huge media circus. What the heck is going on over there!?

Obama, What do You Think?

I would like to invite you to post your thoughts and feelings about President Obama. I would ask that you keep it clean so as to keep to the TOS's for Hub Pages. Who knows? You might just teach me something! :D

I know I have harsh words but what am I to do or say? It's a hopeless situation really. It's depressing because "has been" is accepted as "what's going to be". The main job (whether you believe in the system or what) of the Republican party is stonewall, blockade, under-mind, etc. everything that is Obama. 3 years from now "they" will want a "change". They will say Obama did nothing. The people who are raping this and every other country will just move to another when this one is thoroughly "stolen" and ruined. Thanks Kirstenblog!

Micky Dee - To that last bit, what cha think? Global street parties, it would be as big as the moon landings LOL. Earlier today I was thinking about this hub and how popular sentiment tends to say that he is just another politician. I got to wondering why we still place so much into the hands of politicians. Something is wrong if you pin your hopes for much needed change on politicians when they can do so little because of the very nature of politics. Can't wait to see what the future holds! :0

I'm certainly glad that black people have a man of their color in the White House. It's past "his turn". The next "turn" will be a "do nothing" white woman perhaps way down the road there will be a "do nothing black woman". Obama takes his orders from the same people who have ruled this nation for, I guess, centuries.

Meanwhile- our courts, our "injustice system" is horrid.

I could go on about the problems of the US including the inborn desire to enslave and imprison its people. But- what would be the point. I feel like I talk to myself.

Instead of repairing America, we send the best and most patriotic people/kids to other countries to give them, supposedly, a freedom that we don't have.

the men in my family have protected this country for a hundred years about. That statement was those who might say- "love it or leave it". I've heard that sound byte before. But- the United States of America is full of rhetoric and hypocrisy. I don't care who this urinates off- it's the "God's Truth"! Americans eat their own.

Thank you for a great hub. I feel like going to Disney World! Keep hubbing kirstenblog!

PS: Bush is a murderer and should be charged for treason.

Obama is Carter 2.0. What has he done? Not a thing! I've not even seen him on UK television for weeks. Epic fail.

I want to give him a chance beyond just one year. Even as a little dean on a college campus, it took me three years to really establish myself as a faculty leader.

As a Brit, he has always seemed to be nothing more than a smooth talker to me. Far too much in the mould of our own unlamented ex-prime minister Tony Blair! What exactly does Obama stand for? He talks a good talk, but has anything really changed in the US?

TnFlash - Well its sounds like my impression is pretty dang close to yours. Then again I think that perhaps we were all deluding ourselves by thinking any one man, however well educated and charismatic cannot create change and get stuff done. It takes a group effort I would say. He just isn't stopping all the petty grade school name calling and bickering and I wonder if thats even possible?!

Obama has so far proven to be a great talker but has actually gotten nothing done. He was elected on a platform of change and nothing has changed. Sarah Palin said, "You elected the current President on a platform of change. How's that going for you?" It's not.
