Have Americans Become Complacent To Terrorism?

Updated on June 4, 2017

We all know the protocol by now...

1. This has nothing to do with Any religion but let's advice political correctness
2. The guy was a mentally ill 'lone wolf'.
3. Those who object to points 1 and 2 are racist bigots.
4. Change Facebook profile to flag of inflicted country.
5. Light some candles, hold a vigil and go on a peace march.
6. Wait for the next slaughter to happen.
7. Repeat.

No More Condolences, No More Prayers?

The recent horrendous terror attack that occurred in Manchester England at the Ariana Grande concert on May 22 brought to my attention something that disturbed me. I note that social media seemed to handle this terror attack differently? When checking my Facebook the morning after the horrifying incident, I found not one mention of the attack. No more comments about sending out prayers, no more comments of condemnation. Not even one "share" of a heartfelt sentiment? Even though this terror attack was actually more vile than most. Due to the fact that children were the planned target of this terrorists attack. It made me contemplate, are we as a society becoming accepting of terror attacks? Have we become accepting of this form of terrorism or have we just become complacent of such attacks, and would we feel differently if it affected one of our own loved ones?

If we choose to ignore or become complacent, the growing problems of terrorism will do nothing but get worse. Simply, If we choose to ignore terror attacks we certainly forgo the right to question or complain if a terror attack occurs on American soil. Moreover, the question we should be asking ourselves is. If a terror attack occurs on American soil why did we become complacent, and do little to nothing to curb or stop terror?

A New Solution To An Ever Growing Terror Problem

President Trump is actively working on solutions to terrorism. He is making an effort to build a large coalition to combat terrorism around the world. This coalition will hopefully include many European Nations as well as 50 Muslim Nations. If we stand by, and continue do little or nothing as we have in the past,.we are doing humanity a great disservice. We will be left to live with the results of terror attacks, the terrorists becoming stronger in number, and in their wake causing more death.

Perhaps it's time to support President Trump in his fight against Terrorism. It's time to consider, could our new president be working on solutions to terrorism that may help eradicate it? President Trump's common sense plan just might be the answer. He certainly is not sweeping this growing problem under an already bulky carpet. A carpet where our government has been known to shove our many growing problems. This president does not just make eloquent speeches on what could be done. He actually gets on a plane, goes to the source, and asks them to step up to the plate. He "walks the walk"...

Will President Trump's Plan To Eradicate Terrorism Work?

With all the rhetoric that surrounds President Trump, is it perhaps time to give him credit where credit is due? In my opinion I look at this man, and ask myself. Why in the world would any man of his age, and his good lifestyle want to be the President Of The United States?

I conclude that he may just be wanting to give back, as he claimed during his presidential campaign. His first months have been filled with turmoil, much of what he has brought on due to his own tweets. However, he seems to push on with his agenda, ignoring all the flack that comes his way daily. He certainly appears to be a man that won't be bothered or slowed down beyond a quick obnoxious tweet, most often over a media report that is as a rule not backed up by a legitimate source.

Will President Trump's common sense plan to defeat terrorism work? Will he actually pull off what could be looked at as a very "big deal"? Time will tell. However, should we give our new president a bit of slack? I voted for change, and I for one will continue to support President Trump's bold plan to fight terror. I will pray for peace, and unfortunately continue to send prayers to those that become victim of terror attacks along the way... Because if we become complacent, and do nothing there will be many more killed at the hands of terrorists. That is just a sad fact....

The President Reaches Out To Muslim Nations And Asks Them To Drive Out Terrorists.

The last week of May President Trump embarked on the first world tour of his presidency . A tour that was clearly built around promoting a plan to build not only lasting friendships, but to build a strong large coalition of nations to combat terrorism. He gave a riveting speech, addressing 50 Muslim nations asking them to become responsible for terrorism in their own nations. No other president has addressed such a summit in Saudi Arabia. He made the request before these many Muslim nations to come together, and join with the United States to form a coalition to defeat radical terrorism throughout the world. He asked them to "drive them out of your countries ", referring to radical terrorist. He asked these nations to "help us eradicate them from the earth." His speech was well received, and hopefully President Trump made his point, and has convinced many to join the coalition to put an end to the threat of terrorism. It's time to face a problem that is growing daily, and could soon be a problem that could affect you and yours...

"Drive Them Out!"

Florenzo, I agree with you in regards to President Trump may not stop terrorism. I don't think can control what happens around the world, as he has stated. I don't think any one man can stop terrorism. I just appreciate he is making every attempt to make America a safer place to live. I did not appreciate the last administrations do nothing attitude. In fact some of the decisions in regards to open immigration worked to make America more dangerous. My above article in no way makes a claim that the president will solve the terror problem. I simply pointed out he is making an effort to curb it. Not sure why you find it necessary to misconstrue my article? I posted your comment do to respecting your right to a different opinion. However, in this case we will have to agree to disagree.

Yes, sadly we have become complacent.

It is as if we focus on all of the wrong things in order to avoid the subject...some are even in denial, for their own weird reasons, even though these horrific attacks are more and more frequent.

Complacency definitely puts us in further jeopardy, with each passing day.

I think it's a positive thing, Trump meeting with World Leaders, with the same simple message, let us all work together to destroy those who live to destroy us all!

It's so terrible what happened in Manchester last night. I don't know what to think. It's just so horrible that so many innocent people are hurt and killed. =(
