Hillary Clinton can be America’s Iron Lady

Updated on April 12, 2015

President Obama will be leaving office in January 2017 and I am pleased to see Hillary Clinton as one of the Presidential Candidates for 2016. If I was an American, I would definitely vote for her. (I’m from UK). Some people feel the same way and would like to see her win and for some it’s a definite NO. There have been talks about her trustworthiness due to using a Private email account, while in office and more. However, let’s look at the positives:

Source

  1. Hillary Clinton was the First Lady for the United States from 1993 to 2001. She played an important role in matters of public policy, while her husband, (Bill Clinton) was President, to the point where people objected to her being involved. However, an appeals court supported her stand, ruling that presidents’ wives have a long-standing “tradition of public service” acting “as advisers and personal representatives of their husbands.”
  2. She served as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration and also served as a US Senator. No doubt, she has the best CV / Resume for a Presidential Candidate.
  3. Hillary is emotionally strong. Not every marriage can survive what hers did. (her husbands infidelity). It must have hurt but she was like an Iron Lady and carried on. During the 1992 Campaign, when responding to questions about her husbands alleged 12-year sexual relationship with an Arkansas woman, Gennifer Flowers, Hillary told voters to judge her husband by his record and added that, if they did not like what they saw, then they shouldn’t vote for him.
  4. As First Lady, she helped support so many things that affect Americans, the 3 that stand out to me are: (a) Helping supuport children who’s parents can not afford health insurance. (b) Helping create the VAWA Violence Against women Act 1994 and (c) Initiating Adoption and Safe Families Act - along with many other health programs. This all reflected during her husbands' Presidency.
  5. Finally, for a change, it would be brilliant for America to have a Lady President.

America's 45th President

Would you like to See Hillary Clinton as America's Next President?

See results

Margaret Thatcher

Why was Margaret Thatcher called the Iron Lady?

The Iron metaphor was coined by Captain Yuri Gavrilov in 1976 in the Red star Soviet newspaper because of her staunch opposition to the Soviet and Socialism.

Margaret Thatcher (UK’s Past Prime Minister) was actually the longest serving Prime Minister – From 1979 to 1990. She must have done a brilliant job to be re-elected and I am sure Hillary Clinton can too. Margaret Thatcher sadly passed away in April 2013.

The Big Question? (◕‿◕)

If Hilary Clinton does become President, then what would her husband be called?

First President? First Gentleman?

What do you think he should be called?

Elena.....You deserve praise for your superb writing skills. As for your message, I'm afraqid I must respectfully disagree~~ quite wholeheartedly.

Although aware that Hilary has built up popularity amongst certain groups and thus far, has her devoted fans, I think it is fairly certain the tides will change drastically very soon.

I will refrain here from listing the myriad of reasons for her fall from grace. The long list is certainly public enough for all to see if choosing to do the research.

I also will not take your time at this moment to state precise & strong justification for Hilary's future demise.

The very best thing for this Country, beyond all doubt, is for both Bill & Hil to retire completely from politics...and move on quickly and quietly from public life altogether.

A woman in the The White House would certainly be exciting, when & If it should happen sometime on the future. Just DEFINITELY not this woman at this time. All I can think to say is GOD FORBID!!

In all sincerity, should that occur, my own route would be directly North, to apply for Canadian citizenship, where I would remain until it is safe to return to my Native America.

Hilary represents every last thing we need to save our Country from the utter disaster Obama has made it. NO NO NO.....NOT Hilary. She lacks the honesty, intelligence, courage, patriotism, sincerity, HONESTY, political record, urgency, fortitude, skills, selflessness, Did I mention honesty?...and in general, the CHARACTER that is needed to restore our Country BACK to what it was & must be again to be FOR the people of the USA!!

Thank you for the opportunity to share my view............UP+++

If I remember well Thatcher privileged corporations. Clinton is not different given that she already accepted millions from them. Are you a corporation? Let me assume that yes, then why would you support her?

I am going to assume that you wrote this because you are young, naïve, live in the UK, and really have no clue as to who and what Hillary Clinton really is.

Her email scandal, Benghazi, her lies about being under sniper fire in Kosovo, on and on and on, disqualify her from being POTUS.

She has zero accomplishments as a senator and even less as SoS. Voting for symbolism has almost destroyed this country as it is, we are not going to vote for Obama 2.0.

To compare her to Margaret Thatcher is a travesty, Hillary Clinton is not worthy to tie Margaret Thatchers shoelace.

To cite her staying with Bill after his numerous affairs as a qualification for her to be president is ridiculous and laughable. Everyone knew even before Bill was president that Hillary had long ago hitched her political wagon to her husbands star, and that is the ONLY reason she did not divorce him, blind ambition and a thirst for power.

Hillary Clinton should be in a jail cell, not the Oval Office.

Superkev......THANK YOU! Your last sentence is something I fully intended to mention. If Hilary were any other person at all......or perhaps from anywhere but the U.S.......the sorry excuse for a human being, much less a leader of any sort.......would have been locked up long ago. She & Bill are plainly & simply, MR.& MRS THUG. They both sicken me.

@fpherj48 Thanks for visiting. I enjoyed reading your comments and they have a lot of insight. I am not into politics and don't live in America but just wanted to write my short opinion on it, from the little I know. It truly is good to see the bigger picture from people's comments.

I'm looking forward to reading them. So far, no one is in support of her. :-) Thanks again and have a great week.

@Superkev Yep! That's me. Young, Naïve and live in UK. As noted in first comment, I just wanted to write a short opinion on how I felt, but I am glad you shared what you did. I wasn't aware of Benghazi, her lies about being under sniper fire in Kosovo, but I did read about the Private Email Account she had, which I noted in the first paragraph, gave people cause not to trust her.

Having noted that, there are thousands who will still support her campaign and vote for her. I appreciate you stopping by.

Lady E.....If you should receive a single positive comment about Hilary.....it could only possibly be for one of very few reasons. Either a very sick sense of humor, someone has been sound asleep for the past 20 years OR, they sincerely hate America and hope for it to finally fall into utter and complete RUIN.

Bill & Hilary are the modern day "Bonnie & Clyde."

@Maxoxam41 Thanks for your comment Max. No Presidential Candidate can ever win 100% vote of the Public. There is always something they have done that people are disappointed with and I note you mentioned the Corporations in your comment. Surely, there are positive things that Hillary's done for America while in Politics.

I'm glad you popped by though. Cheers.

LOL.....Well, actually Lady E.....since the new book about the Clintons has come out recently (I apologize that the author's name escapes me at the moment)......you may have a point that Hilary has done "A positive thing," at least once, however LONG overdue. She threw a lamp at Bill and whacked him upside his sleazy head with a book, over his continual philandering and female predatory behavior. Bout damned time!

Now there's something REAL that any married woman can relate to, wouldn't you say? They're both liars and thieves (many are even convinced they had certain individuals wiped out!). She literally drips of phoniness and Bill? well he's just a dirty dog in heat. Lovely couple.

I'm trying very hard to think of one good or positive thing Hilary has done for our country! She's a tough cookie, but as far as being the Pres. of the US, I don't think so!

I was hoping Hilary would run and when she announced I was thrilled. I think she will make a good president. She definitely has the knowledge, and she will fight for the middle class. I think Bill will help her in many ways. Our economy has never been as good since he left office. She will not only get my vote, I will gladly give of my time and money to help her. Very good article Elena...Bravo!!

Yep, always exploring, she loves the working man, especially the ones tasked with taking a bullet for her.

"F**k off! It’s enough I have to see you shit-kickers every day, I’m not going to talk to you too!! Just do your G*damn job and keep your mouth shut.”

      - Hillary to her State Trooper body guards after one of them greeted her with “Good Morning”

“If you want to remain on this detail, get your f**king ass over here and grab those bags!”

      - Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident.

Yeah, she's just a peach. The email scandal will be her undoing, what she did was criminal, she knows it, and Trey Gowdy is going to bring it to light.

She destroyed gov't records that were under subpoena, anyone else would already be wearing an orange jumpsuit.

      @fpherj48 @SuperKev

Hello again Paula and SuperKev, your recent comments have provoked me to want to buy a book about Hillary Clinton. As to Hillary's responses posted by Superkev to the Secret Service Agent and State Trooper (above), people will only deem this as hearsay unless there is a video to back it.

Anyway, always a pleasure to have you stop by.

All the titles I can think of for Bill sound hilarious, however, I hope that we will be forced to find one that fits. I share your passion for Hillary 2016.

A State Trooper and a Secret Service agent are pretty reliable sources, wouldn't you say? Others have backed up their statements, there is never just one security person around, and generally you are not taking video of the Governors wife or First Lady when your job is to protect them.

The deletion of gov't documents and emails, while those records where under subpoena, was nothing short of criminal. I see a scenario where when the truth comes out she must drop from the race and the dems will be scrambling to put forth a new candidate.
