The Ivory Tower Hearings

Updated on December 5, 2019
abwilliams profile image

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

Two worlds colliding

Have you watched any of the impeachment hearings over the past few weeks?

Before these hearings, were you tuned into the lengthy Mueller investigation, did you follow along, during the Kavanaugh hearing, which had nothing to do with Brett Kavanaugh and everything to do with Donald Trump?

It has been non-stop and while I cannot speak for everyone, I suspect that we've all grown weary of this never-ending attempt to rid this Country of a duly elected President.

These most recent hearings in particular, have really been telling.

Talk about two different worlds colliding...the problem is, we aren’t from two different worlds. Over 240 years ago, we united to become one Nation under God, the United States of America.

Nevertheless, two different worlds within this one Nation, are colliding!

On one hand, we have a successful businessman and celebrity, whom the people stand behind and have chosen as their President. As successful as he has been, he has not forgotten what it means to work hard, what it means to deliver on promises and what it means to believe in this exceptional Country and her exceptional citizens.

On the other hand, we have a group of journalists, U.S. Representatives, attorneys and professors who have lost their way, along the way.

Somewhere along the way, they’ve decided that they are above it all; so much more enlightened than the lowly people below. In particular, those who have always supported President Trump or have come to support him.....along the way!

You can hear their disdain for the President, each time these elites, open their mouths to speak.

As for the half of this Nation, which elected Donald Trump and put him into office, the elite are completely oblivious to or dismissive of that fact, that is apparent and must not be dismissed!

Stanford Professor Pamela Karlan
Stanford Professor Pamela Karlan | Source

The Elite speak...

This most recent group to 'testify', the academia elite, have taken the prize from the first group to 'testify', the diplomatic elite. That is to say, they now reside in the most spectacular, exquisite Ivory Tower of all.

We are to listen inquisitively, soak it all up and let it sink in, as leftist, Hillary Clinton supporting, Stanford Professor Pamela Karlan, speaks!

She with her sights on a Supreme Court nomination, if not for one Donald Trump and the lowly peasants that elected him, blocking her way.

No, she's not bitter.

She has stated that she'll go out of her way to avoid passing by a Trump hotel, but, she's as impartial as they come. We must soak up her scholarly words, while pretending not to see, her obvious contempt.

~~~
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has spoken today, saying they've no choice but to go forward with, to follow through on...Articles of Impeachment.
Yes, Madam Speaker, there is a choice and you know it.
You know it, your Party, which includes your elitist panel of Ivory Tower judges and jurors, all know it!
Source
Crystal Clear
More importantly, the American people know that there is a choice and they know exactly what is happening here.
We dared to infiltrate the D.C. establishment, we dared to rush the Ivory Towers you're all living in and now you all are fighting for longevity, with every means you have, whatever it takes.
You've even managed to mention the U.S. Constitution more often, here of late, than you have in your decades long career.
Shame on you and shame on those members that actually have a conscience, but are afraid to act on it; that have a voice, but refuse to use it.
Their inaction, has allowed for your elitist party to grow and fester into this ugly spectacle, we've witnessed since before Inauguration Day, through the Kavanaugh hearing, through the Mueller investigation and through these most recent pathetic so-called hearings.
It is evident that you all are working against us, but for now, today, we, the people, still have a voice and we still have a vote and it is my fervent belief that you all have taken it much too far this time.
Those of us that you all see as peasants, will rise up in numbers you cannot fathom and it will not be with pitchforks, but rather at the ballot box, with our vote.
We will send you all packing, so start planning accordingly and start kissing...those Ivory Towers goodbye!
God Bless America
      Thank you Tim, you are too kind!
      We will actually be decorating a couple of palms this weekend... running a bit behind in decorating for Christmas. It kinda snuck up on me this year.
      No, I've never been a fan of Trump, but I've always said, he is still our President, elected for better or for worse. Let him do his job. If he is so flawed, run him out in the next election. But political grandstanding going on when the country needs to be ran is silly. I'm not much of a fan of these group of Dems. either, Abwilliams. I'll keep reading because, Abwilliams always calls it fairly (if Trump messes up, you write it; if the silly Dems screw up, you write about it.)
      God bless you, and we plan to visit Florida again. The old Brick Road was a fun drive through your state, too, and there is nothing like seeing Christmas lights on palm trees.
      I am so glad that you all had a good trip to Florida Tim. There are so many great restaurants here. Maybe you'll catch Harry's open next time. I love the Catholic Church property, it is such a peaceful and tranquil place. I try to visit there each time I go.
      Ya'll come back now, ya hear!
      Yes, we all get it by now, Donald Trump wasn't your typical candidate and he certainly isn't your typical President, but for crying out loud, leave the man (and his family) be...and move on! I know you aren't and haven't been a fan of Trump, but you keep your mind open and recognize a turkey...when you see it. ;)
      Nice to hear from you. Merry Christmas to you and yours Tim!
      These guys should leave Old Don alone and focus on trying to win elections, if that's what they want. Impeachment is about politics, not about law, and these guys are making a joke of the process. Did our President commit crimes unbecoming to the "Office" he holds? Well, if there are bodies and money hiding all over, he hid it just as good as others who did not get caught. President Trump is a turkey with his attitudes some days, yes. (Even here, I must give him a pass. He pardoned one of the two turkeys from N.C. He recognized a turkey, for sure.)
      But can you show evidence that he is a thuggish criminal with paper work and video and other details? Nope.
      The Ivory Tower is stinking, Abwilliams. Maybe a little Ivory soap for the crowd will help. Great write up.
      By the way, Terry's was closed from what we saw, but we loved the fort, the Catholic Church, the pier, and we walked the grounds at the state school for the blind; we wanted to visit the grounds Ray Charles walked. But the Conch House makes a mean Cuban in St. Augustine. Beautiful place, Abwilliams. Florida is a wonderful state. God bless it and America.
      Texas is a great State too! I understand your concern, California continues to do the same stupid and destructive things, expecting different results...or maybe not, who knows, can't figure leftists out for the life of me.
      Abe Lincoln was a wise and intellectual man, no doubt!
      Pelosi and Schif have us fully concerned. So maybe Texas. It is in the wind for now. One of our big concerns is middle school and high school here for our son. The violation of rules and allowance as in the impeachment filters down. "Acceptable behavior" not in accordance with the rule of law is nasty. It empowers those without respect.
      I think it was in Springfield Illinois when I was just being a bum. I have done that from time to time. I was reading I think Plato's republic. And I chose to sit someplace and the building had "The Greatest Freedom Is Obedience to The Law" etched on it's front. A quote I learned that was from Abraham Lincoln.
      The impeachment hearings are not in the obedience of our laws and therefor shackle those who violate it.
      When you are done reading it Eric, pass it off to Nancy Pelosi, I think if she were hard-pressed, she'd have to say something like, "we need to read it, to find out what's in it".
      Of course, according to her, "this has nothing to do with politics". Bahaha! Maybe she should do stand up comedy.
      As for chit chatting about leaving California, Florida has it going on right now...just sayin'!
      Well that is amazing. // I got to catch up on stuff yesterday Angie//. OCD
      Clearly Ivory tower stuff. Those folks have gone off the rails. That is no way to win in 2020. Did some more US Constitution reading. Amazing how off track this is. Read some real liberal "news" reading. Wow! They are like tabloids in the checkout stand. I really do not care about what Ivanka is wearing.
      Now the actual salient points are coming clear. Now if someone watches this weird scenario and thinks there are grounds for impeachment that is just fine for me. Good on their pea brains. I would imagine most of them cannot find their polling place. I would imagine if they cannot vote on FB they will just ignore it.
      Now I understand that POTUS once had a hit TV show about firing people. I understand it had millions of people who watched every episode and ratings were outstanding.
      I would assume he fired people from Yale and Harvard?
      Now it would seem that our economy and trade deals are fantastic. With or without House approval. I live in a funny socialistic country called California and we will reach a debt larger than most countries. People are fleeing.
      My wife and I are chit chatting about leaving.
      So the impeachment kind of arena is real interesting. I wonder just who gains from it. I could not find anyone.
      Oh well, back to reading the Constitution.
      Yes Shan, I published this morning and then saw the GIF of the uppity llama and the peasant comment. So funny! Laughter really is the best medicine.
      The hearings have been hard to watch, such a sham, a National disgrace.
      This MUST be the article the "don't touch me, peasant" GFI would go perfectly with. Too bad HP won't accept GIF animations. So perfect for this piece, you're right! Running towards something or someone only to turn and snub it instead.
      Unfortunately, I can't comment much on the hearings because I couldn't really stand to watch them beyond that one day I commented in messenger to you about how the witnesses were being led when I was watching.
      Might be because I've been watching that old TV mini-series "North and South" (the one with Patrick Swayze in it) and have the Civil War on the mind, but the decisiveness in this country seems to be getting worse lately. By lately, I don't just mean since Trump has been in office but more like since Obama was in office. I don't even remember it being this bad when good ol' Monica caused an uproar.
      Thank you Yves!
      It is a sad time for our Nation. When every American should be celebrating a time of renewal and prosperity for this Nation, regardless of party affiliation, they, the Dems, have chosen this path instead.
      They've certainly left no doubts as to where they stand, it is certainly not with the people.
      As you've stated, they've been all about ending Trump, before he even got started :(
      It is always nice to hear from you!
      As you well know, I do take sides... proudly.... and I am so with you there, AB! When Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and all the other yahoos in Congress have the audacity to claim that the "facts" are undisputed, you bet I have no choice but to have an opinion. We must call Democrat representatives in our states, whether they care or not. They need to know their jobs are on the line if they vote to impeach.
      "They" were out to get Trump before he began. Yes, impeachment thru the House is a foregone conclusion. It is also a travesty. This is not what the founding fathers intended. They are turning over in their graves as we speak. What a sad time for our nation. Our economy has never been stronger, despite the do-nothing Democrats and because of Trump's tireless work.... yet, here we are.
      Democrats hate Trump. They don't like his personality. He took the job from their heir apparent, namely Queen Clinton. Ironic, given how often they claim Trump is a monarch. We don't even need to repeat what a so-called constitutional scholar, Pamela Karlan, had to say about 13-year old Barron Trump. What a loser. This whole impeachment charade is disgusting.
      Your title is so apropos: Ivory Tower: a state of privileged seclusion or separation from the facts and practicalities of the real world.
      That phrase describes the Democrat leaders in Congress and three of the "constitutional scholars" to a tee. Well done.
      Hi Eric, I believe any other person would have thrown in the towel long before now, to keep from going insane!
      It is unprecedented, what has continually been done to this man and this Country, because he desired the Presidency and we dared to take a chance with him.
      "Fighting each other" is one thing, what we've been observing is something entirely different.
      I do take sides, I am on America's side and today's Democratic Party is too far gone, too radicalized, too above it all...to do America or the American people any favors!
      They do great harm and we need to rid this Country of them, before they destroy us.
      Thanks for commenting.
      I was reading the preamble to the constitution Saturday to my son. He kind of liked it. I read an article (part of it) where it said our POTUS was going mentally ill because of the impeachment hearings, it was hilarious.
      I do not take sides, but I do not like seeing millions of my tax dollars wasted on something that will never happen. Saying that i do declare that I am pleased to see them fighting each other. It is important for balance.
