Homelessness in Wisbech
So, today I went for a walk whilst visiting my girlfriend's parents for Christmas, it has been OK but every time I come down, I need to get out of here solely because her father is the most narrow minded, racist individual you could ever hope not to meet. He is oppressive.
So I went for a walk as I always do, several miles, I would be out all day. I was looking for a pub which would be open with an open fire, there wasn't many places open at all and today I didn't achieve my goal although, there was a Weatherspoons open in town but it's not quite the same.
After walking through fields and coming across a single wind turbine and an industrial estate, I walked back to town and sitting in the doors of a Trinity Methodist Church was a homeless man on Christmas day, elderly complete with a walking stick.
Across the way, was a group of thirteen year old children playing with their new Christmas presents.
I felt the compelling need, albeit previous posts have stated I don't do this but it's Christmas, I offered the man some change and he graciously refused my charity. The man wasn't bothered by his misfortune when watching others have the time of their lives.
Maybe this shows us he's been homeless for so long he's became desensitised to joy...
The books above...
I have read both of those books above and have since given them both away to close minded individuals with incorrect opinions about homelessness.
I would recommend these to anybody. They are fantastic and will give you such a deep understanding you otherwise would never have unless you were homeless yourself before.
