I Forgot To Remember

Updated on December 26, 2011

Every time a politician runs for an office, no matter at which level, they always promise the sun and moon if they are elected. I wonder does any real thought goes into their promises or are they just created for a good sound bite and the salivation of their constituent mouths. They stand on a stag stating that they will change the status quo, bring new leadership to a broken system, and give you, what any reasonably thinking person would know is pretty much impossible, the world. And, we fall for it.

Is it me or is dementia a bigger problem in the US then we realize? For the most part, we elect politician based on their words but before the ink can dry after the swearing in, the promises starts to fade into the sunset. The majority of the constituents do not seem to remember that there were some negotiations that took place and they should hold their elected accountable. I guess as the one liners, hand shaking and baby kissing, and negative ads fades so does the focus of the people.

Once elected, politicians do not forget the things that they have promised while campaigning for office, they sit back in agony anticipating the moment that someone else try to hold them accountable for them. They seem to place more thought in finding an excuse for why they have not accomplished their promises then how they could.

Nevertheless, you cannot blame a politician for showing you who they really are and you forgetting to remember. It is their culture to say whatever it takes to be elected. Their word seem to mean very little; like that of a pimp. I guess we can call what they are doing Government Pimpin’.

A lot of times when a politician makes promises he/she knows that it's a load of bull. Others really want to change the status quo but are shot down by the rest of the fools, thieves and morons in charge, who want to keep getting their kickbacks. In other words, in politics it's just me,me,me, what can I get. Not the job they signed up for but, this is the mind set of todays politicians!

That's how politics is:It is a very dirty game because of the amount of lies therein.
