India Who Rules.-( Maharashtra-Mess. )
In Maharastra a Ghandi Cap is popular for many Farmers.
SMDK MILL WORKMEN - Koulge,Ghadinglaj,Maharastra.
Known for Textiles now to Terrorists.
Mumbai was Bombay when I was working in Century Spg,Weg & Mfg Co Ltd at Worli in 1964.The cosmopolitan city was at its best during those years but it was Dutta Samant a Labor Leader who lead all textile mill workers on strike for increased wages. Many Textile Mills managed by father to son technology so popular was in very bad shape and were incurring heavy losses as they were unable to compete with unorganized power loom sector fabrics which were sold at a lower price than these Textile Mills. The Datta Samant Strike was a god given gift to them and they closed their Textile Mills Gate permanently.Soon Bombay became Mumbai which became a Mess. There was no hope for those thousands of workmen who lost their Jobs. Many took up to work for the underworld smugglers and gangsters. Many went back home for other work in other industries.Mumbai was a Mess.
However Mumbai had money it was the Financial Capitol of India.Huge and Giant Industries were set up at Pune and surroundings and some reached Goa's vacant land and cheap labor coupled with Tax concessions to Industries not given by Mumbai. What was sunset to textiles was sunrise to many others.Everything happened around Mumbai and very little in the most wanted sector Agriculture. Many political leaders under congress took the opportunity to form farmers co-operative societies to start cooperative spinning textile mills in rural areas taking loans from co-operative banks which was getting money from world bank. This was made to all congress political leaders and they soon found they were Textile Mill owners. They had money in the form of loan and they never bothered on returning the money. It was a Mess.Machinery that needed good care was neglected resulting in poor quality and low price. It was a big Mess. The War with Pakistan led to millions of Bangladeshi's to come to Mumbai. They were all Muslims and many who found other jobs with the underworld rose higher leading to big Mess. Govt in Power were busy in making money for themselves leading to smuggling and corruption in police department and govt offices.Land Mafia was in full control leading to more and more Mess.Living in Mumbai was threat to non Mumbai people from other states.A party under the name SHIV SENA. started targeting south Indian Hotels who were making money and they had to contribute to the party failing they would be forced to shut shop and go to their home in UDUPI or Mangalore it was another Mess. Not a single South Indian,Gujarati,Shindi,Bihari,UP Walla or Delhiwalla was safe.Every body had to pay money for protection.
MUMBAI IS A MESS FOR ITS MASES NOT MALIKS. NOW SOMEBODY FROM ACROSS THE BORDER OF THE COUNTRY IS MAKING MORE MESS.
