Iranian Regime Outlaws Valentine's Day

Updated on February 15, 2011

Oh boy. I really thought I was reading about some sort of joke. Not so with anything dealing with the Iranian regime in power. The current regime is so paranoid that it is only a matter of time until Iranians and their Green revolution throw caution and fear to the wind and really riot in Tehran.

And why not????

They will succeed if they stay resolute in the face of raw power and bloodshed because they have the numbers. Over 60% of the citizens in Iran are under age 30! Think about it. These are kids born after 1979, for the most. They, like Egyptian youth, are intelligent and are not zombies. They know other countries are better than Iran.

Iran banned any celebration of Valentine's Day and warned that violators would be prosecuted because it subverts its Islamic law. The Iranian regime snuffs out anything it thinks may cause its under 30 group to be "western". Iran and its "mullahs" has a regime that thinks of bogus reasons cemented in Islam to issue such stupid decrees to its citizens. In reality, it is not better than Communism, which did much the same thing and we know what happened in 1991. People revolted.

Iran's idiot regime also banned, in the sacred name of Islam, the following aimed at the under 30 yr group:

1. No mingling of sexes unless authorized

2. No rap music can be played

3. No Western style music can be played

4. Women may NOT play instruments in a band

5. No rock music

6. Women may not wear nail polish that is "too" bright, LOL!

7. No laughter in hospital corridors

8. No celebration of the ancient Persian holidday,  Nowrooz

9. The media may not publish any foreign food recipes

I suppose the Iranian regime is afraid that pasta may subvert their control over its freedom loving people. The mullahs of Iran are the official "haters of fun". They are sooo afraid of the youth and so detached from their reality that it is time bomb waiting to go off.

The greatest weapon against regimes like these is Rock and Roll. It collapsed the Soviet regime in the end despite huges efforts to block out The Beatles music and others. Iranian youth embrace many Western concepts and culture and there is nothing the regime can do but to issue mandates prohibiting it. The Iranian youth say, WTF, and do it anyway in underground clubs, secret gatherings. Soviet youth did the same thing.

Funny, the mullahs cannot offer any specific dogma against the underground rock clubs in Tehran. When they bust them, they state the music is blasphemous because of the dancing or because mixed sexes cannot mingle. Hello? How is one suppose to meet and date in Iran? Does the state have to bless it? As to forbidding foreign food recipes in the media, the Iranian regime claims it is anti-nationalist, a food recipe? Get a life!

The whole regime is exactly like the movie, "The Yellow Submarine (1968)", a Beatle cartoon that is still amazing to watch. Iran's regime would be the "Blue meanies" nasty bonkers that suck all that is happy and love. Music is subversive. Of course, the heroes are, The Beatles, under the leadership of Sgt. Pepper and Lonely Hearts Club Band, who fight the fight and free those suffering.

It is only a matter of time until Iranian youth and its Green revolution topples this idiocy of a government.

      Hi Perrya,

I will look for some foreign films from Iran on my Netflix page. Thanks for that information.

I am hoping that we will hear that shocking news that Iran's Green Revolution had taken over. Ya!!!

Thanks for sharing your great information.

Thanks, Ms Wright. Like you, I also thought it was a joke, but it ain't. I can hardly wait until what happened in Egypt happens in Iran. if you are into foreign films, check out some from iran, well made and it shows you much about the society. There is one great one about how a bunch of teenage girls dressed up like dudes to sneak into a soccer game. It is forbidden for women and men to watch a soccer game at a stadium-honest!

      Hey Perrya,

      You forgot two:

      10. You cannot have dreams.

      11. Media cannot show Fried Chicken recipes.

You know that is truly freedom. They cannot have that. LOL.

I really thought you were joking. I really do not get these people. You cannot control people ....

I love the way you treated this serious subject. It drew me in, pissed me off, and made me laugh. Very well written.

      Thanks for sharing.

Ofcourse they are , and thier regime is very strict. I think they should protest against it . Thier Shea regime doesnt represent Islam. The real Islam is Sunna! I hope women have thier rights like education and have jobs. I dont know much about Iran. But they used to have music 30 years ago and many lady singers. My own parents used to live there and mum didnt have to cover up. It was a total Freedom. Not anymore.

Iranian people, food, women are great. We are talking about a regime that because of its desire to stay in power, they are willing to outlaw stupid things, things that all people want-freedom to choose and not be arrested for it because of some islamic law that was made up to support its reason.

About what they ban , they dont have to be americanized to be happy. Im sure they enjoy other things than Rock'n Roll or burgers. I think thier regime is silly too but there are more important things than music or nailpolish. And im sure they have all the yummi iranian kebabs which is very satisfying.
