More Terrorist Mayhem.
Islamic militants with suspected links to Islamic State have launched a co - ordinated attack in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
There were multiple explosions across the city and the targets ranged from a Starbucks cafe and the Presidential Palace. Follow up blasts happened near the Pakistani and Turkish embassies and a gun battle ensued inside a cinema at the retail complex.
Many nearby buildings were evacuated and office workers looked on in horror as bodies were strewn on the ground.
A UN building was in lock down as the battles and violence ranged around them and one UN worker tweeted something was happening outside the building as it all kicked off.
Indonesian security forces thought the attackers were aping the Paris attackers and they also suspect a link between the Jakarta attackers and Islamic State though no one has yet formally owned up to being behind these new attacks.
It seems Islamic State's reach is truly global and will target anyone or anything anywhere it considers an enemy and the question has to be asked how good are those countries securities where these attacks are taking place and how much support if any do these terrorists have within the borders of the countries they choose to strike.
