Jiggering The Job Numbers

Updated on June 8, 2012

Bet You Didn't Know...

There was just a hearing where US Department of Labor big wigs were called forward. That hearing was tagged as the “Addressing Concerns about the Integrity of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Jobs Reporting” hearing. That's something that needs to be questioned seriously in an election year. The data is being manipulated by the Obama administration to give the public at large a warm fuzzy and a feeling that Obama is the "Great Job Creator" along with all his other tags of greatness which only really illustrate his failure to lead this nation.

I am seeing that even the mainstream media is beginning to pay a little closer attention to the smoke and mirrors routine that the Department of Labor does so well. Maybe after viewing a few videos you'll find that you yourself have a green job! The category seems to encompass some "far reaching" category type jobs like driving a garbage truck, a school bus driver, selling used records and the list goes on.

Here's a video about some jobs that they've suddenly included in the name of "creating green jobs."

Maybe You're In The Count?

The link below is the source article I used for this Hub and has the actual video footage, which is not yet available on You Tube, of the hearing and the line of questioning that was taken and the "usually reluctant" answers that were given.

Scamming the American public seems what Obama does best. He promised hope and change and now we see what we see. He wants to tout creating "green jobs" and the hearing this past Wednesday illustrates the fallacy behind those figures. I keep hearing about the 4 million jobs that Obama created since taking office. First of all, Obama hasn't created jobs, other than to bloat the federal bureaucracy. Jobs, productive jobs, are created by the private sector and things haven't gone well in that arena because of the failed policies Obama has tried. Those same policies were tried in the past and yielded the same failed results.

So lets just jigger the numbers and put them out there in an attempt to scam the American electorate once again. It goes on and on and is all about nothing more than politics and has very little to do with the creation of actual jobs, green or of any other color.

This last link below asks the critical question any thinking person should ask every time a new unemployment figure is bandied about between now and the November election. Maybe someone can answer the question in a more logical manner than the young lady in the video?

There are still those that actually believe what Obama says or maybe the case is that they are die hard partisans who would vote a party line even if it meant the destruction of our nation. I would hope that ignorance at that level does not exist in our nation but I know that it actually does.

How do you make over 3 million unemployed people disappear? "Why would that be done" is the better question? Then how do you stretch the truth beyond believably by classifying jobs as "green" when it borders on hystrical. Even the acting chief of the Department of Labor was embarrassed and baffled at times when answering the questions asked.

As Always,

The Frog Prince

Remember In November!

Funny how history repeats itself. In the 1970's I was out of work. everybody, including me, though that maybe raising gardens, cutting gasoline use etc would help with survival Gas prices were going up, inflation was going up. Sound about like now.

Frog Prince, it's amazing between massaging the numbers by the department of labor and massaging Obama's spending budget by the press that the truth still comes out that Obama has not done anything to improve the economy but actually made it worse. Keep hubbing the truth because we all need the constant reminder. Voted awesome.

It's easy to be a flim-flam man when you have utter contempt for the voting public. Up and awesome and interesting and useful!!!

      Good one Frog.

I too have noticed that the main stream media is shedding some of its syrup and goo for Obama.

I agree that small business could get the economy rolling again, but this will not happen until some things are changed. In the eyes of most small employers, it is just too risky right now to implement planned business expansions that would employ lots of people. Employers still don't know what the true cost of Obamacare will be. They still don't know what is going to happen with taxes. Most employers who are currently getting by will stay in that position until some of these mysteries are resolved. To do anything else would be like jumping off a cliff and hoping for the best.

We need government to get behind small business, not fight them every inch of the way. The department of "new regulations" is working overtime to come up with new laws that make life miserable for small employers. And many employers just don't want to wear the greed label they receive if they actually keep some of the profits from the business they own. I know several small business owners who have laid off all their help, scaled back, and just do it themselves until things settle down and they know what to expect from government in the future.

Good points. I believe that most jobs are created from private industry. The country was started by small business owners and we should try to start there in building jobs. The government is not the best manager in distribution of money.

Mike, I CAN believe that many quit looking--like you say, giving up in frustration & disgust. Of course, that may be because I'm one of that number, retired some earlier than I'd planned. And the frustration level out there, especially with Obama specofically, is not going away. I even had one lady yesterday CLEARLY understand & approve when I told her over the phone that my last job "got Obamafied" in '09 and that I've been committed to seeing him defeated in 2012 ever since.

And that was a woman who works one of the big Credit Reporting agencies. If anyone has a clear overview of the economic mess we're in, bet it's her!

      Voted Up and More.

mjboomer, I suspect your correct, they went HOME. I had 3 of 4 living with us for awhile, but fortunately they all managed to find work and moved out on their own again. I can't believe that many quit looking for work unless they just gave up in frustration and disgust.

Well the latest thing he's said is "the private sector is doing fine" you have to be beyond gullible (like in La La Land) to believe that with less than 2% growth and no jobs for millions out of work for going on 4 years! Yep, just fine.

The problenm is, people are gullible and will believe anything Obama says.

      He's counting on it!

I'll tell you where all the unemployed people went. They all went HOME! I am working part-time and my adult children are unemployed and living with us or other relatives. It is interesting to note that if you research the rhetoric spewing out of Washington DC, most things don't make sense......IT IS ALL ABOUT ELECTION!

Great enlightenment Frog! - Too bad those who really need to be enlightened will never read it.

I used to think that Obama was just inexperienced and ignorant of reality but when you look at everything he advocates there is a pattern. He is for anything that through fiat or public relations and propaganda can be promoted and pursued with public money (our tax money and when that is gone through debt) until our country is so far over the edge there is no turning back!

His goal really is to bankrupt the country and his budget proposals are more evidence of what he wants to do. It is a plan but the key to it's success is to have the cover of good intentions like:

1)Global warming and the environment - no one wants to destroy the earth so he enlists our good intentions to throw money down the tubes at green companies that will never pan out, fines and environmental taxes and an EPA that wars on Coal and Oil and puts minnows above the existence of industries and even people's lives.

2)He enlists the entire government and it's agencies to promote purely political agendas to get him reelected (eg. voter registration, selectve enforcement of federal imigration laws and war on states that enforce them).

      3) ... well I could go on and on but how about someone else adding 3, 4, 5, and 6...we should be able to get to ten!

Great hub my friend, good to see you writing again. I have asked repeatedly what is happening to those who have supposedly dropped out and are no longer seeking a job? Are they starving to death? They are no longer counted in the unemployment numbers, so who are they and where are they? If they can just quit looking for a job, somebody is supporting them or we would be reading about all the people who starved to death overnight. To drop out of seeking employment would indicate a job is not a necessity for this individual.

Glad you are bringing out the true facts. DC has been doing the smoking mirrors long enough. White House is for sale in November, thank God.

If Obamie is improving then why is unemployed still unemployed in the US. Hide the ones that have now dropped off the benefits and just don't count them, thats our President.

      Nice hub there frog.

      Voted up.

Hey Frog Prince, And I thought that I was the only one questioning all the propaganda about unemployment and jobs. We're still losing 1.5 million jobs a month and ther's not enough new jobs to accomadate the 150,000 a month who are entering the work force each month. Thanks foe the reality hub pointing out the obama transparencies.

Anyone who thinks a government job increases the job market is completely out of touch with reality. That's like saying I hire my kid to mow our lawn and my neighbor pays him to do it.
