Just a Short Bravery and Love

My Neighbor just got done with a 5.5 year service. Steve only served as a gunner in Vietnam. Dick just left this world but did a tour of 4 full years in Korea. Missy next 2 doors down lost her husband in Afghanistan it seems - a "medic". My Father in law friend died from injuries by parachute as a ranger and a concentration camp.

Of course I could go on and on about my fathers and grandfathers.

But the point remains the same.

Thank all of you serve in anyway. You do not pick war or conflict. You just do service to the greatest ever country.

Parents at our school last night wore the uniforms and we know their children will be gone in a few. Thank you spouses and children a real sacrifice to stand for a better way against forces who do not want freedom.

Defeat oppressors so us simple folk can get on with passing the love.

Bill sometimes on a field of sports/battle we just stop and "take a knee". A player gets injured - it just don't matter what side. I have always been honored by such.

Where would we be without these special people? Some I know, and most I don't, but like you, I'm thankful for their sacrifice. The world would look terribly different without them.

Many thanks Lori for your comment. I just walked a couple of miles with my son. I dropped him off to play with his good friends Alma and Diego. Dad went to some foreign land and just never came back. Not even a coffin. We are blessed to have those that serve.

I am touched by your expression of gratitude. I have a son who served in the 90s as a ranger. He served in Panama and actually saw some action in a prison uprising. He jumped out of a lot of airplanes and his body is quite broken at age 44. He battles demons on a daily basis but I appreciate very much his and so many others service to our country.

It's a wonderful tribute. Thanks for bringing it into the light.

Harish I thank you. There is a thing in the air here with our service members. As they may go through a check out line they may hear "thank you for your service" more than once. What is really cool is that you can feel it in your bones. All to the good.

      Thank you, Clive.

I will just give an update right here. Our new neighbor veteran was blasting his Mariachi music yesterday evening. My crazy son got a stool to get over the fence height then he yelled to the man to please turn it up so we could listen better. (of course he called him "sir" and vice versa)

Eric , this is a beautiful vignette showing admiration for great valor and sacrifice of brave soldiers ! We love peace and peace loving guys.

If someone is adamant on imposing conflicts on us , our brave soldiers go to any extent. We are proud of our nation , and we are proud of our great soldiers.

I love reading this beautiful piece of dedication to your brave warriors. Thanks for sharing it.

Tim, my boy will give me suggestions as we stick fight in a bit. Perhaps children see fighting on electronics. We do hand to hand and "stick" to stick. A little Karate here and there. Pain in failure teaches us that others face pain and we should not go about it lightly --- now someone get me some ice for my knuckles my doctor is going to kill me hihihihi. Another day and something else injured. If we do not push ourselves how can we understand those who do?

Eric, if the truth had been revealed publicly, as the constitution requires, we would not have been in any foreign wars except maybe Korea, all the others beginning with 1898 USA vs Spain, WW 1, WW 2, Vietnam, the 1st Iraq and 9/11 Iraq were all acts of treason by the U.S. government just to get into those wars to "strut her might". Because we weren't informed we went to war just to satisfy our monetary greedy nation to which the loss of man power in them meant nothing compared to the money the weapons manufactures earned and the taxes the US got from them. If I had known the ship in Tonkin Bay was shot by a U.S. sub, a San Pan couldn't do it without destroying itself, I don't think i would have gone, by my human view. It was my destiny to go less I'd of not fulfilled a prophecy I had said as a child in what I though was a lie.

That's all behind us now except the Middle East and South America which will come to a halt soon so world peace can prevail. So, don't think I don't appreciate your sentiment, I do and thank you.

Short and powerful. A wonderful message that we cannot hear too many times. The few who sacrificed for the many. Helping someone you know is one thing, but to help a total stranger. Truly God's work. Thank you for reminding us.

Ms. Shatoya and I are working on a care package that will include Children to communicate with children who miss their friends. Why not Pamela. Why not Pamela?

We will toss around ideas for funding today. I am thinking Silicon Valley. Sounds like a good public relations gig.

John my talk has been cheap. My wife works at a Naval exchange where of servicemen shop. It is on a very restricted base of operations. She cannot say all that much about it as a fellow like me lacks clearance. But I can see that she deals with them day to day and respects them. Good enough for me.

You know how they video things where spouses and children can talk to parents. Live. In combat zones?

I am going to bust that mold. It needs to be expanded. We used to call them "Military Brats". I will end this with the same thing, we will allow classrooms to bust the mold and keep the kids "in class".

How fun first. But then we get to learn where they are stationed. We get first hand child reports. And the youngsters get our far superior schooling.

Hey if these kids can spend hours on screen time they will have a blast with real time.

Just a concept, working on it
