Lincoln & Kennedy Coincidences

Updated on October 8, 2008

There are numerous and bizarre similarities between the assassinations of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. As hard as they might be to believe, they are all true. It is earily spooky and it almost seems as if they were from an episode of the Twilight Zone or the Outer limits.

Both of them were elected to Congress exactly 100 years apart. Lincoln in 1846, Kennedy in 1946.

Both of them were elected President exactly 100 years apart. Lincoln in 1860, Kennedy in 1960.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy had wars thrust upon them right after being elected. Lincoln the Civil War, and kennedy the Vietnam war.

Both of their last names, Lincoln and Kennedy, contain seven letters.

Lincoln had two sons named Robert and Edward. Kennedy had two brothers named Robert and Edward.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy had sons who died while they were in office.

Both of them had dreams and premonitions of their deaths prior to their assassinations.

Both of them died from a bullet wound to the head.

Both of them were sitting next to their wives when they were shot.

Lincoln had a staff member named Kennedy that warned him not to go to Ford's theater that fateful night.

Kennedy had a staff member named Lincoln that told him not to go to Dallas and tried to talk him out of it.

Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater, Kennedy was shot while sitting in a Lincoln which is made by Ford.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy were shot in the back of the head.

Both of their assassinations took place on a Friday.

Both of their assassins were born exactly 100 years apart. John Wilkes Booth in 1839 and Lee Harvey Oswald in 1939.

Both of their assassins were southerners.

Both Booth and Oswald were both killed prior to reaching trial.

Booth shot Lincoln in a Theater and then fled and hid in a warehouse. Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and then fled and hid in a theater.

There were many theories that both assassins were part of a much larger conspiracy and did not act alone.

John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald both have fifteen letters in their names.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy had Vice Presidents named Johnson. Andrew Johnson was Lincoln's VP, Lyndon Johnson was Kennedy's VP.

Andrew Johnson and Lyndon Johnson both have thirteen letters in their names.

Andrew Johnson and Lyndon Johnson were born exactly 100 years apart. Andrew in 1808 and Lyndon in 1908.

Both Johnson's were from the south and were former Senators.

A week before Lincoln was shot he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

The last coincidence is wrong as far as Kennedy is concerned, despite being a funny ending. Marilyn Monroe died in August of 1962 so she couldn't have been with Kennedy a week before he died; unless he screwed her rotting corpse! Sorry for being crude, but facts are facts!
