MJM Ponders Life

Updated on April 26, 2013

1. Why are so many people who are against war take it out on the soldiers…it's not as if the soldiers are for and/or endorse the war necessarily…they are just doing their job…which by the way is to protect us and this great country of ours…the war and the soldiers are not one in the same.

2. We have a zombie apocalypse on our hands…and it's coming from the big pharmaceutical companies… they make you believe that any ailment you suffer from can be cured by a patch, a pill or a cream…regardless of all the crazy side effects…they are turning people into mindless slaves who do their bidding…and make them lots of money.

3. When are people going to realize that there is no such thing as a government for the people…whether it be Democrat or Republican…it is obvious based on past experiences from numerous other Democrats and Republicans who have held office that there is nothing to gain for us common laypeople.

4. Bullying...is that word being taken too lightly nowadays...is it just kids being kids like back when we were in school...or were we bullied ourselves and our parents just sugar coated it…what’s really going on here?

5. In today’s day and age why does hate still exist…as a society do we really not have anything better to do…with all our own issues and faults do we really have the time, or right to hate on anyone else…it just doesn’t make any sense.

6. Way too many people getting offended by one thing or another for no good reason…we spend more time trying to find ways to avoid offending these overly sensitive and/or self-important people then we do trying to manage the national deficit in this country.

7. Why are so many obvious murderers going free nowadays…what is wrong with our justice system…O.J. Simpson was the big name a few years back and now Casey Anthony…what the crap is going on here.

8. Why are people who receive government benefits not drug tested and/or have a background check done on them…anyone who applies for a job has to go through it…so why not these people…I’m not hating on people who truly need these benefits…I just think it needs to be better regulated.

9. Why isn’t marijuana legal…alcohol and cigarettes are…nuff said?

@aslanlight I do agree with you as far as cannabis is concerned, even though I do not smoke the stuff myself.

However, I must disagree with you in regard to our soldiers; even without them we would still have war...because war is a money maker and a form of intimidation...kind of like bullying. You can’t hold the brave men and woman who fight for our freedom accountable for the messes our government gets us into.

Some interesting points. Cannabis should be legalised because science has proven through research that it helps with hundreds of diseases. As for soldiers 'The Universal Soldier is to Blame' Donovan. It's different when people are forced to join up but they join of their own free will and learn how to kill. Without soldiers there would be no wars!

      Michael,

Oh, that was two different conversations. "We flail" was in regards to these rants of yours.

"Chicken with my head cut off" was in regards to my lack of "free time" and wanting to get more hubs read and over to your nifty little site.

The holiday weekend will probably decrease my online activity, but I should be back up and running by Sunday night/Monday morning.

Hope all is well buddy! :-)

      Michael,

It is things like this that make us flail around the bed at night until we hit the floor and even more dangerous because many people don't hear us! :-) I have been running like a chicken with my head cut off for the last couple of days but soooo need to get to your other hubs and site.

@Cantuhearmescream very well said my friend...and I'm really happy to see that I am not the only one who thinks like this...it's nice to see that there is some other free-thinkers out there on this crazy little planet we call home.

As always thank you so much for the comment and for reading/supporting my cause...you are the bomb diggity.

      Mickey,

OMG! I'll have to stop back; I wanted to comment on your number one but after reading number two I got overwhelmed!

So, my brother has been Airforce Special Forces for about 10 years and he takes a lot of pride in what he does and his country. However, just like you said, being military doesn't mean you support all decisions but it is their duty, obligation and honor to serve our country, regardless of what that means. When I was bitching about the war about five years ago, I naturally assumed he supported it and he stated exactly what you did.

Yes, pharmaceutical sonspiracy theory; I've been wondering this for years.

Bullying, probably getting worse, too many kids are killing themselves and/others, may or may not have to do with the unhealthy environment America is providing, but kids are also probably less equipped to deal with it in the past as well.

Casey Anthony, ugh! The justice system is flawed, that is a case in which I would take the law into my own hands, she doesn't want to play at my park I'll tell you that.

Hate- hurts the hater more than the hated, bad idea, one should reconsider.

Drug testing for benefits! Yes! I couldn't agree more. Do you realize how many people wouldn't be eligible to receive benefits and then some people who actually need them might stand a chance.

Great hub! Voted all kinds of stuff :-)

      @Steve Orion

      1. I have personally seen backlash against our vets...of course it was coming from some less than desirable individuals...but nevertheless it still happened and I'm pretty sure it isn't an isolated incident.

      2. I completely agree with you...natural entheogens are the way to go.

      3. I don't see our government...Democrat or Republican it doesn't really matter...being there for the poor and middle-class...there's just enough help offered to keep them quiet...but never really enough to lift them past where they currently are.

      4. Just a question...I didn't really have an opinion one way of another.

      5. I totally agree.

      6. ...another match for us.

      7. I'm not really sure of the statistics...but I do know that we have some real slimeballs roaming the streets thanks to our justice system.

      8. Yes...correct.

      9. Amen!

Thank you for taking the time to read what I had to say...and for responding.

@mackyi just because some people wouldn't like it...and most likely complain about it...it doesn't mean we don't do it.

@midget38 thank you very much...your feedback is always appreciated my friend.

Quite an interesting hub! However, if they were to use drug testing to decide qualified recipients of welfare, wouldn't this evoke an avalanche of critiques from the media and other interest groups?

      Some interesting ponderings here... ponderations??

      1. I never see backlash against vets concerning the wars, what prompted this observation?

      2. That's why I stick with natural entheogens!

      3, 4. I really disagree.

      5. I think it's within our nature to hate, as people labeling others as an "outgroup" is a biological and neuronal phenomenon.

      6. I completely agree, especially concerning religion.

      7. While examples like those can always be found, I'm not sure there has been a lower conviction rate for murderers than in the past. Something interesting to research!

      8. Given 9, I assume you mean besides cannabis. If drugs tests are utilized for welfare, they would include that, undoubtedly.

      9. Here, here!

Some interesting thoughts, nice to come across your writings!
