Obama has Won, But it Could be a Double Edged Sword

Updated on December 24, 2012

Obama and re-election

The election is over and Obama is home and dry , once more safely ensconced in the Presidents chair in the Oval office. He has been at the helm of 4 long years and many feel that has not been a very distinguished time for the USA. If this is the case than how did he win. A study shows that the white and non-white was polarized and Obama picked up 95% of teh colored and Hispanic vote. this tilted the odds in his favor as a committed white clientele voted as usual for him and his party.

When Obama came to power it was generally assumed that he would restore the sagging prestige of the USA after George Bush. But unfortunately nothing of the sort happened and after 4 years one realizes that perhaps Obama is incapable of restoring the prestige of the USA for some inherent psychological barrier.

Firstly it was a surprise to me that man with a Muslim father from Kenya and atheist mother who spent some time in Pakistan was elected as the US president. Thus Obama has deep Muslim roots and it should not be forgotten that he spent his early 2 years at a Madrassa (Muslim religious school). Any psychologist will tell you that what you learn at that impressionable age remains in the deep memory of a man or woman. One cannot wash those 2 years off. He must have also undergone the sunnat as a good Muslim.

His transformation to Christianity is a bit of a surprise. He must be genuine in his faith, but his deep subconscious mind does have a soft spot for Islam. Nothing wrong with it, except that when it impinges on state policy it needs examination. Let us see what has happened.

a) Just after taking over he made a 'historic' speech at Cairo University in which he was almost apologetic of America’s role. He said that America was never at war with the Muslim world and never will be. Fine words but need not have been stated before a Muslim audience. Again it is not America that is at war with the Muslim world but the extremist organizations like Hamas, JEM, Al Qaeda, LTE, Soldiers of Mohammed, and Taliban etc who have declared the USA as their enemy number 1.

b) Obama in his deep mental recess genuinely believes that the problem in the Middle East is Israel. There has been a subtle shift in his thinking and Israel. The fact is even if Israel ceases to exist the battle with the USA will not be over as the extremist Muslim organizations have stated their aim of carving an ‘Islamic caliphate ‘over the arc of Europe, Africa and Asia. I think Obama has not seen this threat.

c) His responses have been conditioned by his inner psyche. Thus when the US Ambassador was killed in a Rocket attack by terrorists he made it look different. He failed to realize that the attack was not the fall out of a trivial film on Mohammed but a deep conspiracy. If such a killing had happened during the time of Reagan and Ike the response would have been different, here Obama and his secretary of state have done nothing.

d) The removal of Mubarak was another thing dictated by his deep Muslim psyche. Obama genuinely felt that once the Arab spring was supported and people like Mubarak condemned to the dust bin of history all would be well. In fact in a last a interview with Obama Hosni Mubarak said tersely “ Mr. President, you don’t know a thing about the Middle east

How right he was. Mubarak went and the regime in power is the Muslim brotherhood, which was kept banned by Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak for 40 years .The President is an anti US old hand and the recent actions in Egypt shows that Obama failed to recognize the situation.

Obama thus seems to have a blinkered view. There are so many things one can write about, the economy, the home situation in the USA but that will have to await another edition. Come to think of it another term for Obama may make him the Gorbachov of the USA. Keep your fingers crossed.

I don't think Romney is the answer to world tension - what other choices are there? I would rather have another Obama term, than let Romney loose in the White House. Perhaps Obama only needs better advisors, after all he doesn't govern single handedly. Up, interesting and useful.

      Hi MG Singh,

There were a lot of expectations towards Obama as a president, not only to Americans but to the whole world. Did the world put those expectations too high? may be. Voted up.

Mg Singh, your posting of the events indicating Obama's choices is a good reminder of how he believes. I think the people must make a decision as to if this is going to continue to escalte our economic downturn and to ruin our strength as a nation. Good post.

Your thoughts are well formed and superbly written -- Obama is not a credit but a hindrance to the U.S. and it's policies and beliefs. I personally think the U.S. is in imminent danger should Obama win a second term in office. His record so far, in every sector, is deplorable and his foreign policy is disturbing. Enjoyable read and certainly am in agreement with you. Best/Sis

There are those things which could have been improved and well on the road to recovery. One of them the economy/jobs. Obama has ignored the basic element...getting the private sector off its back. In fact, his actions in terms of healthcare and threats of taxation have done just the opposite. Without the private sector willing to step up and invest, our economy will remain stagnate just like any "socialist" government eventually becomes. Obama's danger in a position of power lies not so much in his religious sympathies as it does in his philosophical beliefs. His younger years were heavily influenced by his communist father, his communist sympathizing mother and her approving parents as well as the writer-poet and card carrying communist, Frank Marshall Davis, who some believe is actually Obama's father. Entwined with all of that is Obama's distain for colonialist nations such as the British, believing that such countries brought strife and dire poverty into nations which they colonized. That belief extends into America's history as well thus he feels the need to apologize for our country. One of his largest financial supporters is George Soros who has made billions in the hedge fund market in great thanks to the USA. Soros is a socialist and despises America wishing to see it dismantled. That dismantling first requires that, as a nation, we are financially bankrupt to the point that our currency has little value and our ability to borrow is extremely limited. This burden hits the population hard as businesses go under and jobs disappear...much like the Great Depression Era. The Middle Class was be hit the hardest in that process, the sector Obama claims to want to help the most, two sectors emerge...the wealthy and the poor. Along the way poverty breaks down will and people look to the government for their subsistence and survival. Asset confiscations and redistribution temporarily softens the blow but eventually the economy dies and along with it the government's source of revenue. At that point, the government begins to declare ownership of all business rationalizing the move to be in the best interest of all citizens and with that the fundamental transformation into a "communist state" becomes the result. One can call Mitt Romney whatever they want, but this is our alternative with Obama and this is why this is the most important election in the history of this country. Our survival as a democratic republic hangs in the balance.
