Minnesota Musing: Analyzing the Opinions About the New President Elect
Opinions in the News
As a voter, I was interested in the results of the new election of President. I voted in the election and waited for the counts to be in.
I will be honest. The candidate that I voted for, did not win. The candidate that did win, did some apologizing for his behavior during the campaigns and gave kudos to his opponent for fighting the good fight.
As an American, I will support the new President.
Unrest in the United States
It seems that there has been a lot of fighting in the United States in the last few months about who got the majority of the vote. There has been a lot of immature activity going on. A lot of people doing a lot of ankle biting and rock kicking.
The Singers for the Inauguration
The latest news, is the news that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was requested to sing at the Inauguration.
It has also been noted that they criticized the President elect previous to being elected. The opinion voiced is that they should not sing at the inauguration since the values of the new President do not jibe with the values of the Mormon Church.
There are people pressuring the singers not to sing. There are petitions being signed.
Let's Be Real for a Moment
If you ask the person sitting next to yourself, if they like music, they may look at you and say, "Yes, I like music." If you ask yourself, "Do I like music?" the answer may be yes, also.
When you analyze who is singing on the radio, do you know them personally? Do you know what they ate for breakfast that morning? Do you know what comments they made to their spouse before they left for work?
Or. Even better yet. Do you ask yourself if they went to Church the last weekend. Do you ask yourself if they made any comments about anyone at any time. Does that affect if you listen to the radio or not?
Having the Right Opinion
Since every Church out there has people who have opinions about events, and none of the people have the same opinions, the question had been posed whether the choir should sing for the Inauguration.
The Inauguration is a ceremony. It has quality entertainment. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has grown to be a prestigious organization, recognized for its achievements in the world of songsters. It is a honor to be involved in the event.
The Choir itself, is not the focus of the event.
Yes - They Should Sing
Yes. My opinion is that they should sing.
Make America Great Again
There is a song that I hope that they sing at the Inauguration that will probably bring tears to America's Proud eyes.
How Great Thou Art would be an appropriate song, don't you think?
