Missing Children Evidence of America's Moral and Spiritual Illness

Updated on January 21, 2014

Philadelphia abduction attempt caught on tape!

Philadelphia police are searching for the man who attempted to abduct a 12 yr. old girl while walking home from a trip to the store with her younger brother. The kidnapper stumbled after grabbing the girl, letting her go while her brother screamed for help. Thank God, for her release from a kidnapper who probably meant her harm. Hopefully, police will identify this attacker with his car being filmed and get this person behind bars and off the street.

An epidemic of missing children!

Like most good people in America, this issue of people, especially children being kidnapped or gone missing, has troubled me from the moment that I first heard of it. According to recent FBI statistics for 2010, roughly 800,000 missing persons are reported to the FBI every year, with cases solved or modified bringing the figure down to 80,000 people still missing at the year's end.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children 800,000 children are reported missing every year. The FBI statistics are for both adult and juvenile persons, but estimates are that 75-85% of the 800,000 are for missing children. While many of these children are runaways, abducted by a non-custodial parent, or are reported as missing due to being lost or hurt, many are found and return home unharmed. Still at the year's end, there are 80,000 persons still missing and unaccounted for, with roughly 80% of those being children.

Some say that there is no epidemic, pointing out that the number of missing persons has come down from a high of over 900,000 in the 1990's. Going back to 1980, the number of missing persons reported each year was 150,000, since then we've had over a 500% increase in missing persons reports.

So where have all the missing children gone? Is there a plague of kidnappers and serial killers that continue to elude authorities? Are there satanic cults that kidnap children for occultic sacrifice or rituals? Are there alien abductions of children for whatever evil purposes? Are some abducted to acquire slaves for the sex trade or pornograghy businesses? Although every year many people are caught and charged for kidnapping and murder, the numbers of missing don't seem to change much.

Whatever the case, America is plagued with perverted persons bent on doing evil and destroying children's lives despite all authorities try to do. What will it take to end this problem? Or is this another problem that is intentionally allowed to continue for furthering an agenda or eroding of citizen's rights and establishing more governmental control?

The two girls pictured above are cousins aged 8 and 10, that just seemed to vanish while riding their bikes together in Evansdale, Iowa on Friday July 13, 2012. Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins were last seen by their grandmother when they left to go bike riding that afternoon. Authorities have been searching a wooded area near Meyers Lake with over 1000 volunteers without finding any clues to the girl's, other than there abandoned bikes.

Agents from the FBI and the Iowa Dept. of Criminal Investigation have now joined the search and are sending divers to search Meyers Lake. Although many hope and pray for the safe return of these girls, statistics report that most people that are kidnapped and sexually abused are murdered within 3-4 hours. That is a chilling and horrid statistic to even acknowledge!

To provide information on select major cases, call our Major Case Contact Center at 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324); or go to One thing that troubles me, with all these children missing was that I really couldn't find that many recent articles about missing children, except for repeated articles about the same 3-4 incidents. It seems to be an issue that is down played by the media, even on the internet. Unless the girl abducted is a beautiful blonde of highschool or college age, then we'll read about it for months, while a mere mention of others are rarely seen.

Although most people would agree that anyone attacking or exploiting children are evil inspired individuals, there are those who currently pushing to change public perceptions of pedophiles. The lobbying group B4U-Act works to decriminalize sexual acts done with minors. More information on this move by some doctors at the APA and those who seek to normalize adult/minor liasions can be read at

Another hideous example of arrests for child molestations and pornography has been reported at This troubling revelation of sexual acts against infants from 19 days old to 4 years old being photographed, with these photos then being sold is quite revolting. Police involved in this case say that demand for these types of child pornography is very high.

E-mail conversations between many of those charged in these cases were obtained that detailed discussions of abducting, cooking, and cannibalizing young children. Police have not yet determined whether the acts were actually committed or just discussions of their perverted fantasies.

The policemen involved in the arrests of the 43 people involved in this child molestation group deserve our thanks, as many as 140 child victims have been identified so far.

Hey Theophanes, I agree there are alot of other causes, that's are just circumstances of tragic accidents or nature. Those generally fall into the categories that are modified or resolved before the 80,000 are left. The reasons you mention are exactly why pedophiles generally "get rid" of their victims. Thanks for all your comments on this difficult subject.

Not all children who disappear are victims of human malice. Out here in the boonies they sometimes get lost on mountains, get trapped in mine shafts and wells, or get chased by bears or rabid animals into the woods and get lost. Some probably fall into rivers and wash away and there's plenty of freak drowning accidents in lakes and ponds. Its tragic but certainly not an act of evil. Other times women with vibrant mental illness fake pregnancy before snatching the nearest baby which is a stupid in horrible idea but again, not based in malice. As for pedophiles... that's a crime that none want to be caught for, with long sentences, unsafe jail stays (other prisoners usually make a point to use violence on known pedophiles) and the life-long ramifications (such as being on a sex registry) and stigma there's a lot of motive not to get caught. Sad to say a dead victim can't talk and hidden well enough no one would ever know the wiser. Personally I think pedophilia should carry an automatic life sentence. These criminals in particular have shown time and time again that they are the least likely of anyone to be "cured" of their ways, meaning they're out there severely damaging lives even when they aren't killers.

When I first moved to this area I was told about a newspaperboy who vanished decades ago, & more recently found other kids vanished shortly thereafter but their disappearances were "hushed" because law enforcement allegedly didn't want the public to panic. Although I wasn't in this area at the time, what I -have- noticed is not nearly enough is done when children disappear-- the 2 girls you mentioned in your hub, and a 5-yr-old who disappeared & was found dead a few years ago-- it's like they MUST have SOME idea who's responsible, but act as if they don't.
