Modi the Indian PM invited Ivanka Trump to India

Updated on December 15, 2017

Narendra Modi Charms

Narendra Modi has a charm of his own.He knows how to go about his way. During his recent visit to the USA, he realized that Ivanka Trump the daughter of the US president has a special place in her father's life. He invited Trump and family to India and also gave a special invitation to Ivanka to visit India to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. This is slated to be held sometime later this year. The Times of India has reported that during his address at the White House the Indian PM said: "I have her (Ivanka Trump) to lead the US delegation for global entrepreneurship forum,". Trump never a man not to give a reply said:"And I believe she has accepted".

Invitation to Ivanka

Ivanka Trump accepted the invitation. She is a businesswoman in her own right. She is also a crusader for women's rights and along with her husband is also an advisor to Donald Trump. In America, she has her own brand that is recognized. She thanked Modi for the invitation. She tweeted on Twitter

Ivanka Trump ✔@IvankaTrump

Thank you, Prime Minister Modi, for inviting me to lead the U.S. delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India this fall.

7:42 AM - 27 Jun 2017

Before Modi went to the USA it was assumed that the meeting between the two would be difficult. Surprisingly the visit went off very well. Modi and Trump met for almost 4 hours with and without aides. Inviting the daughter of the US president separately was a master stroke of diplomacy.

Modi charms Indian opposition

Modi has also charmed the Indian opposition and the Kashmiri leader Omar Abdullah has tweeted that Modi is a clever man. Omar is a man who is a realist and he has accepted that Modi has created a favorable image of India in the USA.

Personal gifts

Modi's visit had a personal touch and Trump laid out the red carpet for him. He conducted him around the White House and showed him the bedroom of Abraham Lincoln and the desk on which he wrote his famous Gettysburg address. On his part, the Indian PM presented First Lady Melania Trump with a hamper containing a traditional, handcrafted silver bracelet from Himachal Pradesh, tea, and honey from Kangra and hand-woven shawls from Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. To the president, he presented a wooden chest made in Hoshiarpur with an intricate inlay design.

Last word

Overall the visit of Mode resulted in a personal equation between Trump and Modi. Hopefully, the two can carry on from here. They are due to meet soon during the G20 summit. Modi and India will now await the visit of the US president to India. No dates are fixed but one can surmise it will not take long. Modi remained in the USA for only 2 days and continued on the next leg of his visit to the Netherlands.

Interesting stuff. Modi seems a very pragmatic man and as fair as can be in a world of ups and downs. Thanks Bro.
