Mollie Tibbets: It's not about race it's about illegal immigration.

Updated on September 6, 2018

Illegal Immigration is not about Race

Our country has a serious issue with illegal immigration. People come to the United States from all four corners of the globe. According to the Migration Policy Institute's website nearly 71% of all illegal immigrants come from Mexico, another 15% come from Central America and another 14% from Asia, Africa and Europe. While Mexicans comprise a majority of unauthorized immigrants, between 2007 and 2013 the population declined by about 1 million. In contrast, unauthorized populations from Central America, Asia, and Africa grew rapidly after 2000; with the numbers from Central America and Asia tripling and from Africa doubling. Countries significantly represented in these increases include China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, and South Korea. Illegal immigration is not an issue of race, it's an issue of sovereignty and respect for our laws. An illegal immigrant from England should be treated the exact same as an immigrant from Mexico.

I take offense to the liberal media, and Ron Tibbetts for trying to push a racist agenda in response to a call for better enforcement of our borders. No one blamed Mexico, or the Mexican people; YOU are the people who are making this about race. Illegal immigrants are of every color, shape, size, sexual preference, religion, and ethnic background. I haven't seen one politician say all Mexicans need to be deported; it's all illegal immigrants regardless of race. To attempt to make this about race and use it for your leftist propaganda machine is reprehensible. How many of you want to bet Rob Tibbetts will be running for public office in California soon? He is already a member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and he's in marketing. So who could possibly really be using Mollie's death for political gain here?

The fact remains that if our immigration system wasn't so broken, this man would not have been here to commit this heinous crime. The same can be said for Kate Steinle and numerous other lives lost to people who broke our laws and trespassed upon our sovereign land.

I wonder if the farm where this man was employed is under any investigation and will charges be levied against them for hiring and housing illegal immigrants? Any company caught hiring undocumented workers or any landlord who rents to them should be fined or jailed to the fullest extent of the law. They should require social security cards and ID to even rent a hotel room, much less a home. If there are no places for them to work or live some of them will leave on their own.

Liberalism; The Real Problem Behind Illegal Immigration

Illegal immigration, as I stated earlier, is a major issue plaguing the United States, but the liberal reasoning from a large portion of our society has greatly contributed to it. Let me ask you who stands to gain from illegal immigration? The liberals, democrats, and socialists, that's who. It's a whole new wave of people asking for handouts and it guarantees votes in exchange for those handouts. The liberal agenda to is to have everyone dependent on government because then you are easier to control. Who is going to rock the boat when your only source of income or survival is provided by the government? No one wants to bite the hand that feeds you, a fact the liberals and democrats know far too well.

You have to wonder why we would want anyone here who’s very first action, crossing the border, is to knowingly break the law - I don’t care what the reason. Tell me, would anyone allow strangers to enter their own home uninvited? Isn’t America our home? Not theirs!

What the liberals should do is propose a law that provides for an official list of families who are willing to take into their home an illegal family permanently and the gov’t will allow that family to stay as long as they lived in the American family’s home as long as they are here. There ya go liberals, you can solve this.

Our entire immigration system needs an overhaul, including the legal ways to enter the country. After doing a bit of research it is possible to apply for legal immigration, but extremely difficult especially for those who come in illegally without inspection.

Everyone, everywhere has the right to petition for LEGAL entry into the United States.

Leslie is one of those liberals who say "We can't let the fact Trump is doing a good job, stop us from our mission to remove him from office."

Those are overstays Leslie....but honestly, in areas along our northern border where there's ALOT of illegal crossings, it might be a good idea to put up some kind of physical barrier.

Biggest abuser is Canada. Guess we better get a wall for that border, too. Let’s see....the México Wall is 25 billion. The Canadian one will really be a doozy.

Odd. I’ve never even heard that mentioned.

I recall when things were ratcheting up back in the mid-2000's, during the time of the minutemen, that the "Irish community" - i.e. people here illegally from Ireland - were concerned about their future here, There were reports then that many were choosing to self deport rather than wait for ICE to come knocking.....yes Leslie, the white illegals have to leave too.

I am of Irish and Native American heritage, and it's you liberals who are arrogant, conceited, entitled and disrespectful of any opinion that doesn't align with your own. I provide the sources to back up my statement and you respond with wild allegations and pull the race card. You are truly an idiot, and this conversation is over. I feel sorry for whoever got stuck with you for the rest of their lives.

John Cunningham came to Boston in 1999. Like many Irish immigrants to the US, he arrived on a 90-day visa for summer work. But then he settled in, worked as an electrician and ran his own company, remaining in the country without authorisation.

"All of a sudden you turn around, so much time has gone by, and you start to realise what is going to be in store for yourself for the future," Cunningham said in a March interview with the Irish Times.

On 16 June, nearly two decades later, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents came to his home to arrest him. He was deported to Ireland on 5 July. Because he arrived in the US under the visa waiver programme, one commonly used by European immigrants, he had waived his right to a hearing.

Ronnie Millar, who runs Boston's Irish International Immigrant Center, thinks Cunningham's decision to share his experiences and speak out for the rights of unauthorised immigrants in the United States made him a target for deportation.

New statisitics show that the deportation of Europeans is up significantly since President Trump took office. While ICE continues to focus enforcement efforts on deporting Latino immigrants, the deportation of Europeans is likely to have increased by nearly a third since Trump took office over the same period in Fiscal Year 2016.

Some European immigrant communities in the United States showed some support for Trump’s candidacy last year in the expectation that increased ICE activity would spare the undocumented from their home countries. Many believed that only Muslims and Latinos would be caught in the Trump enforcement net. What they have found, instead, is that even though whites are not primary targets for ICE, many Irish, Polish, Italian, Greek, and other Europeans are being jailed and placed in removal proceedings.

The recent wave of arrests is spreading fear through immigrant communities that had once felt immune to the sorts of sweeps that Asian and Latino immigrants had often experienced. Ethnic organizations in these communities report rising numbers of calls by immigrants worried about their futures.

"From Oct. 2, 2016 through June 24, more than 1,300 Europeans have been removed, compared with 1,450 during all of federal fiscal year 2016 — the last under President Barack Obama. The agency didn't provide estimates broken down by calendar year."

Leslie they are being deported, you need to do some research. 80% of the illegals are Hispanic, so of course more of them are going to get deported. But people like you leave out those points because it doesn't fit your agenda. All I needed to see was that picture on your profile of the worst president in our nation's history to know exactly, who and what you are.

Good, succint piece summing up nicely the sick scenario created primarily by Washington. I do love to hear the left make this about race, constantly, and they do it because as you point out, it serves their agenda; they push to legalize illegals, in part, by trying to make those in favor of secure borders feel guilty for wanting to deport "all those brown skinned people".

What's revolting about many conservatives and Republicans in Washington is that, on the whole, they refuse to push for E-verify, which would help diminish illegal immigration.

Poorly secured borders are allowing criminals such as Mollie's killer and those with terroristic intentions into the country.

So how come Trump isn't going after the Irish illegals? There are more who overstay visas then cross the border. Why isnt ICE kicking down their doors?

And have you ever heard Steve King say "those Irish guys have calves like cantelopes"?

Brad I was referring to the other comment that said it was easier for "white Skinned" illegals to blend in. I was wondering how this Irish woman would have any understanding whatsoever of what it is like to be a "darker skinned" illegal, was she a different color at some point? I just love the way the "news" prints people's opinions as facts, and people just eat it up.

      The key in your article

"The fact remains that if our immigration system wasn't so broken, this man would not have been here to commit this heinous crime. The same can be said for Kate Steinle and numerous other lives lost to people who broke our laws and trespassed upon our sovereign land."

And who stands to gain from illegal aliens.

Their employers and the democrats who are preening them for citizenship to vote democrat.

      Billy

How difficult is it for brown illegal aliens to blend in the entire southwest?

I would imagine it is just as easy for black illegal immigrants to blend in to our society.

“It is easier being illegal here when you're white," Shauna, an undocumented Irish immigrant, tells CNN. "It's not easy, of course, you have that paranoia but there isn't the racial element. It's a bit easier to stay under the radar."
