Mr. Narendra Modi launched the swatch Bharat

The Swatch Bharat Abhiyan

Mahatma Gandhi was a political activist taking part in satyagraha movements. But apart from an activist and Satyagraha, he also had a different phase that is the `Mahatma'. He hasn't only dreamt of a free India, but also of green and clean India. He believed that `cleanliness is godliness'. He used to clean his home, especially the lavatory himself. By cleaning the lavatory (toilet) he felt himself closer to God rather than feeling as an untouchable. He called the untouchables as 'Harijans' the children not god the people of God.

He understood the dignity of labor. He never felt belittled in doing any kind of work. He used to engage his followers in cleaning jobs in the Sabarmati Ashram. He wanted to spread the message of cleanliness. He believed that coming together hand in hand for cleaning the country would create a sense of pride among different social groups and they would feel united for the cause. This would trigger the nationalist movement, rather than political it also had an ecological and Hygienic aspect. India had faced a bad history of plague and influenza epidemic. Gandhiji hoped for disease free India.

Prime minister, Sri. Narendra Modi re – launched the swachh Bharat andolan this year under the title of `Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. For this he has appointed seven members as the leading escorts of this Abhiyan. They are Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar, Deepika padukone etc., Modi promised in this 70 the Gandhi Jayanti that in 2019 when we will be celebrating the Gandi Jayanti our schools, hospitals, colonies, localities would not have a trace of garbage.

This Abhiyan is being implemented seriously and many schools have been involving their students in the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan. The schools are planning to make the students clean the compound at least once in a week. Although this abhiyan has entered a quick phase, it might slow down if there is no necessary law to facilities this. I mean, that's the first and the foremost thing is to ensure cleanliness of the public places. People should be fined for dirtying the public places. Police should be employed in public places to keep a check on the people. Not only this, people should not be allowed to throw garbage on the rivers as well. There should be proper awareness among the people about the demerits of having an untidy environment Hence I would like to say-

To clean the dirty hands.

The day is not far.

When India shines like a star.

For there will not be a single garbage traces.

But this would not happen only by god's grace.

So we need to find our own ways.

We need to see a lot of days.

To make India clean.

As preserving our country's beauty.

Is our first and foremost duty.
