A visit to Arlington New York State and the Iraq Memorial to Life
It took place on May 29, 2010 at South Beach on Staten Island
I was told it was next to the popular Ocean Breeze Pier.
The view of the pier from around a half a mile away.
Just a little further to it.
Upon my arrival at it
Many people on the Boardwalk stopped by for a look and reflection.
Sally Jones talks about Peace Action of Staten Island.
James Aliziado and his wife told me they were deeply moved.
I went below to take a closer look
Elaine Brower of Military Families Speak Out - New York reads the names of U.S. military personnel whose lives have been taken in both the Iraq and Afghanistan occupations.
How many more crosses will be used next year?
Elaine still reading the names of the deceased. She was at it a long time.
Iraq Memorial To Life
Next to Arlington New York State was the Iraq Memorial To Life
As dusk approached, candles with protective cups were placed with the boots and certain memorial markers
Elaine took a break from her reading of the names of the deceased...
I met Doug Mackey, founder of the Iraq Memorial to Life.
A shot of me before it got dark.
