Indian Hindi TV Serials | Negative Characters

Updated on April 29, 2011

I don’t know much about the TV serials of other countries. But when it comes to Indian TV serials I found that the negative characters are getting the spot light most of the time. May it be in Hindi or in any local language; the negative characters are in the commanding roles always.

India is a vast country with its rich culture and heritage. It has the history of one of the oldest civilization of the world. There are several languages having world renowned books and writings. Several authors have been crowned with the rarest honor of the world.

Indians are known for their helping attitude towards the guests . They used to consider guest as GOD. There are hundreds of legends where it is shown that kings have given their kingdoms to satisfy a guest. Host cut his own flesh to feed the guest.

But do the TV serials of now a day’s reveal any of the above culture of India? If not then why the producers are producing only such type of serials?

Is the attitude of the people of India has got a radical change? Have we Indians forgotten all our traditional pride?

If not then how the producers are being satisfied with their TRP’s?

Or a well planned conspiracy is going on to destroy our morals, our values?

This is high time when people should think about it. Otherwise it will be too late! It will destroy the future of our children, the future citizens of our nation.

Sometimes I try to watch some programs. I continue for a few days because the design of the stories is such that it compels you to see what happens next. Then when I enter deep into the story, I wonder how the activities of the negative characters are overlooked. It seems that only those are the people who are intelligent and others are fool.

I personally have been disturbed on this issue for a considerable period of time. I didn’t find any solution to this. Then I thought that it should be shared with my peers in the hub pages so that someone can find some solution to this perilous trend.

I request you to participate in the following pole so that some statistics can be derived upon.

felt your passion in this and I learned something. It seems its world wide thing and not just in certain countries that television protrays more negative than positive.

Thank you for visiting my hub. I am happy that you also have the same feeling regarding the influence of TV serials on kids and teens. I like to add one more concern - that is Ad. You never know which Ad will pop up when you are watching TV with your family!

cupid51 good hub you are right to be concerned about TV having an influence. I only watch TV in the UK and some of the programmes that they buy from other countries to show here.

We do have some good programmes but for years now the TV serials that are shown almost every night portray characters that behave in ways you would not wish your family to behave like.

In the past we had programmes suitable for children up until nine o'clock at night. Now it seems that it is OK to cover topics that I would not think suitable for children at anytime. I might be old fasioned on this but I am pleased that my children grew up before the TV became as it is now. Thank you for your greeting I send my best wishes to you and your family.
