Nigerian Criminals Posing As Camera Rebels

Updated on March 22, 2011

The World knows what Rebels look like. Not these picture Boys that are posing for a group Photograph. We see Rebels in the Days of the Liberia War, In the Tamil Tigers, from Colombia. It is an act that binds with politics or Ideology or both. Not this propaganda to justify or conceal selfish criminal activities in the Creeks of Nigeria's Oil-rich Niger Delta Region.

The shameful drama staged in Nigeria some few months ago as a process of reconciliation between the government and the so called Niger Delta militants should have been enough for all the actors to bury their heads under their armpits.

But No! Once more, the ugly images of Armed bandits, brandishing weapons, posing as Camera Rebels in International News Media is seen even though the operators of the media are well aware of the truth underneath. For the reporters are not unintelligent to draw the simple inference from the fact that the Emancipators? decided to drop their weapons on the promise of monetary compensations even when the people of the region they claimed to be fighting for were not part of the bargain.

It was on cable news, one saw a horrific sight threatening to go back to his initial business of blackmail if Government do not fulfil the promise of money ransom for dropping his weapons. Such figures are the oppressors that would not allow ordinary people to vote in peace in an election without shooting at them. It is him and his boys that threatens the people because the Witch Doctors needed a human head. He seemed like the man that will deprive the ordinary man of his peace by staging daily armed robberies.

It was in shock, one heard  that a Nigerian Rebel group called MEND is resuming its criminal activities with a promise of a massive onslaught. And one wondered if MEND would have come back if they were adequately compensated as promised.  And should the News Media give them an Ear?

International News Media Organisations sees the propaganda game as an Entertainment. Hence, they refer to armed gangs trying to blackmail their partners in crime (criminal politicians) to give them a peace of the stolen hot yam, as rebels even when they know the truth.

The so called Rebels are simply Ijaw regional criminals that are not different from OPC, Bakassi Boys or the Northern Fanatics that are terrorising each Region of Nigeria respectively.

There are no Rebels in Nigeria. They are simply Thieves!

Nicomp, "Camera Rebels" was my invention. It is down-to-Earth, the way you write. Such quality makes reading enjoyable.

      Thanks!

The term "Camera Rebels" is new to me, but it certainly fits. Major news outlets depend on these people to provide footage at riots and such. When the camera goes on, the riot ramps up immediately in front of it.

Hi James, you've captured my sentiments on this issue so accurately. Those men are criminals posing as rebels same as the somali pirates and others with such villainous intent.

Well written. Glad to follow you.

Thanks Faybe, In an attempt to sell a Gun and live on it for just today, certain men are on the verge of setting the entire World ablaze. It is sad that Humanity is playing politics with Iran's Nuclear Ambition when it is a clear fact that one man's greed for a place in paradise could cause fire to rain on a vast population of the Earth.

Nice work James, I am impressed. I had said I would get to read your blogs and now have. You are a passionate writer with the goal of getting truth out there, the same as me. I hope we can come to terms with our separate debate, but I see why religieous controversy is a thorn in your side. We both know it is the stuff wars are fought over, while someone else fuels the religeous fires so he can sell more guns.
