No Sanctuary for Us

Chiquita Bakes a Spinach and Egg Casserole

Chiquita is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Sunday, August 13, 2017. Our noisy friend, Chiquita Cicada, is at the breakfast table this morning. She is puzzled by the number of jurisdictions that have turned their collective backs on the federal government and the rule of law. In her world there are consequences for ignoring the laws. The same should be true of the human world. Please join Chiquita and me this morning for breakfast. Chiquita has prepared a wonderful breakfast casserole for our enjoyment. I have prepared a batch of Irish coffees to up the fun. We hope to see you soon. The lights are on and the door is open.

Unsafe for Americans

Thanks so much for joining us this morning. In the bug kingdom we have a sense of order. We know right from wrong, we are taught to obey the law and we strive to live a peaceful life in a world that can be dangerous. My human friends are on the same page, but there are others who march to a different tune. Sanctuary cities are a prime example of purposeful chaos and danger. America is, indeed, a nation of immigrants, but it is also a nation of laws. People from all over the world come here all the time seeking a better way of life. We welcome them with open arms, but we ask that they follow the law in order to gain admittance to our nation. Our citizens deserve that kind of protection. We need to know who wants to come here, and why they are choosing to leave their native countries behind. There is a process to all of this. It takes patience and money, but in the end it is a system that works. Open borders are a prescription for chaos. In this day and age, not knowing who is entering our country is Russian roulette.

Out of Control

A Problem of Our Own Making

President Trump has decided to tackle the problem of immigration. Presidents who came before him turned their backs on the borders, and in doing so, turned their back on America. Just ask residents living in Suffolk and Nassau counties, Long Island how they feel about the presence of MS-13 in their home towns. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI)and chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee has stated that the Obama administration knowingly admitted MS-13 members into the country and saw to it that they were processed and placed into communities. This last fact bears repeating. Customs and Border Prevention apprehended the teenagers, knew they were gang members and despite this information released them into our communities. The Dems would tell us that it was compassionate to allow them sanctuary in our nation. Their victims would tell us that their lives have been turned upside down by this insane practice.

Its Not Just Mexico

Dangerous people are slipping into this country from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras. Some of them may want to be American citizens in good standing, but many want nothing but trouble. We have a system in place dealing with immigration that works if it is allowed to. When the rules are thrown away, danger ensues. Sanctuary cities make sure this kind of trouble has a safe harbor. Does the left really want amnesty for murderers and rapists? By insisting that cities have the right to offer sanctuary in violation of federal law, they are giving tacit approval to those who come here to harm us and to those in charge who are allowing this to happen.

Short Path to Citizenship

Twenty one U.S. cities have pledged to make 1 million illegal immigrants into American citizens by 2017. Some of these cities are sanctuary cities, the others are just breaking the law. The goal of this endeavor is to prevent illegal immigrants from deportation under the Trump administration. We finally have a president brave enough to tackle this growing problem, and he is being challenged by liberal and progressive groups who want to derail his efforts. Their campaign is called "Naturalize NOW". Clearly, breaking the law is now in vogue. I wonder how all those who entered our country legally feel about this project. If I were one of them, I would be livid. President Trump's plan to withhold federal funding from those cities who disobey the law is a good one. It won't solve the problem, but it is a beginning. What we need now is a middle and an end.

Chiquita's Song

I'm Chiquita Cicada and I'm here to say

Progressives and liberals should just go away!

      Dear Hxprof,

I have feeling that no matter what the consequences are of sanctuary status, those in charge would find a way to blame Trump! There must be a brain virus circulating that is affecting people like Bill DeBlasio, Warren, Pelosi and so many more. I am off to the Inn where common sense still matters. Join me if you can.

The limp-brained thinking behind the establishment of sanctuary cities is laughable, but as you point out, the potential consequences of this thinking are not so laughable. Sadly, it may take a terrorist act by an illegal alien to wake up some of these clowns.

      Good Morning Pino,

Those who harbor criminals are criminals and should be held accountable. I no longer understand the thinking of those who call themselves "liberals." I assume they are so "liberal" in their thinking that laws are too restrictive and not meant for them. See you at the Inn, and lock the door behind you!

      Good Morning Paula,

There has been an outbreak of insanity. It has permeated the college campuses, both parties and cities who feel thy are not part of this nation and are above the law. We are just a inch away from chaos. See you at the Inn.

      POP and Chiquita:

We already have plenty of evidence of what happens in sanctuary cities. They are now off my list for travel. Why do the liberals condone the actions of murderers and rapists and welcome them with open arms? A vote cannot be the only answer. President Trump is brave enough to try to tackle this complex issue. I applaud him. Will we get what we want? Probably not; however, we might get something we can live with. I am off to the Inn. Save me a seat.......

Criminals, law breakers, all those whose behavior and activities endanger the safety/lives of others, should have "sanctuary," NOWHERE~EVER! As is right, just, correct and demanded, they must be arrested, charged, brought to justice and pay the price of their crimes, as set forth by the Justice system of our nation.

This is the only plan to follow for any country, state, society and civilization.

Those who believe or endorse otherwise have lost all sense of reason, common decency, direction, sense of right & wrong & allegiance to our Constitution.

Has there been an epidemic of utter insanity attacking a particular group of Politicians/citizens????

      Dear Lori,

In my view, those in public office who support the idea of sanctuary cities do so because they are looking for votes to keep them in office for lifetime. We welcome immigrants, as we should, but we have to know who we are opening our doors to. See you at the Inn.

That there are sanctuary cities where foreign criminals can come and roost makes no sense. The argument that it's compassionate is no argument at all. Where is the compassion for the American's that have suffered at the hands of those foreigners who violated them. Whoever in Washington promotes. condones, and legislates for these cities is a foreigner to common sense, the Constitution, and for putting the well being of their own countrymen second.

      Dear Deborah,

Thank you so much. I have to say there are solutions to these problems, but sane men and women have to come to them. I just can't accept the insanity taking over our country. See you at the Inn.

The left believes in following all laws....that they agree with. All others are for them to ignore. They are ignorant ignorers.

And then it will all drag out in courts, and by then there will be a new President, one with his/her own agenda, and new battles will be fought, and new court cases, and on and on it goes. I do, on this occasion, agree with you. There is legal immigration and there is illegal immigration. Those words should stand for something in a nation of laws.
