Should the media be so insensitive?

The new Freedom tower, 1 World Trade Center, started from the ashes of the erstwhile doomed WTC, which was attacked by a group of Muslims; and thanks to the deceased al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, for being dead.

The reason being that he was the mastermind of the September 11th, 2001 attacks in Washington D.C. and New York City, and he deserved what the United States Navy Seals inflicted on him.

His charges would "live in infamy", for they would have been more than 3000 charges of second degree murder, if not first degree murder charges. However, the authorities gave him a dose of the medicine that he had given the people that he killed by his nefarious action.

The above statements stemmed from the media frenzy about how bad the employment report was, that only 115,000 jobs were created by the Obama administration in April. They, the media, were rather focusing on people that have dropped out of the unemployment lines.

What was the need for counting those people was beyond every bit of sensible thinking, because they might have given up for any number of reasons; that they wanted the jobs that they were not qualified for or that the pay for the jobs available was not what they expected, etc., etc.

So, the only rational to bring them in the job report was to say that President Barack Obama was not doing the best he could in creating jobs; however, that would be unfair as well as a lie, considering the fact that unemployment was high, when he took over as president, and he has been able to whittle it down to 8.1%.

Besides, there was a dysfunctional U.S. Congress that would not pass any of his proposals for job creation, like the "America Jobs Act" of 2011, which never became an "Act", due to the action, inaction or reaction of the Republican Congressional caucus. The bill was still sitting on the shelves in Congress.

It looked like the media was taking sides in an election year, judging from how they were interested in drawing peoples' attention to the negative aspects of things, rather than they being neutral and as objective as they should be in their reportage.

They were aware of what the Obama administration has been going through in the hands of Congress; and if it was not for "Fast and Furious" and the unwarranted attacks on the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, it would be this or that; and on and on, on end.

They knew that the economy was bad from scratch, and the president was raising a virtual "Freedom tower" from what he was faced with, when he arrived at the Oval Office. It was just like Mayor Giuliani walking through the the remains of the WTC, after the 9/11 attacks.

Nobody at that time could think that the ruins would ever be replaced with a magnificent new building; however, the beginning of it was gradual, and the nation was grateful to the FDNY, NYPD and all the first responders for clearing the debris out of what became known as "Ground Zero" to be useful once again.

Obama has encountered such an obstacle and he was in the process of dealing with it. He would need the help of all patriotic Americans to succeed.

As for the Dow Jones dismal figures on Friday, no one should associate that with the job report; as it was always on a Friday that the investors on Wall Street took their profits, and that was why the figures were in the red and nothing else.

To many Americans, Obama should not be blamed for what happened at the stock exchanges; and the media should be the first to know that for a fact, but they were throwing so much dust into the air in an election year, and that should not, by any stretch of the imagination, be the style of a competent group of entities called the media.

Putting blame at the door of the White House of what took place on the "Street" would not be fair. It was about time the media put fairness back in their deliberations, for without it the 2012 presidential election would not be sacrosanct. However, the opposite was what all Americans and the rest of the world were expecting.

The media have to learn to be responsible, for they were the last bastion of social interface against all form of negativism, and only the truth should come from them in at least 90% of the time. No one should even make the attempt to attack them; but they must always bear in mind that they have to be "fair, balanced and unafraid," as they themselves preached.

As for the April Labor Department job report, Obama has said, "...if we're going to build a secure economy that strengthens the middle class, then we're going to have to do more." among other things.

He meant it; and one could take that to the bank.

what does theeconomy look like now, it's horrible?

three years! I could have done better in three years , you refuse to look at the facts. you should ask Timothy Geitner the question ? He was running Goldman Sach's the biggest crooks on the planet and now he runs our economy. Why did obama put him in there ? he is an idiot.

Wake up ! the past is gone he has had three years to do something. name one thing other than his corrupt political payoffs.

The question still is, "What did the economy look like, when Obama took office?"

Nobody wants to answer that question; why or why not?

Please, do your best to answer that question.

you did not address any of my statements as to why his own party voted down his budget, his corrupt green energy payoffs are such a waste of taxpayer money and his embracing of leftist social policies are dragging down the economy. thats why he can not run on his record. because it is very poor to say the least.

unfortunatly you are afraid to address the facts or you refuse to face the reality of a failed presidency.

Corporation outsources American jobs to other countries. President does nothing to stop it. Corporations continue to outsource jobs to other countries. Cause and effect. A child will continue to break rules unless something is done to stop that. If I recall correctly, the executive branch has historically had a great deal to do with scolding misbehaving corporations, and Obama doesn't seem to be interested in that.

Tell me this; or answer this question. What did the economy look like when Obama took office?

If you have something to say, you should say it to the big companies and corporation. They were the ones that were outsourcing all the jobs to India, China and other places.

Now,they happen to be the same entities blaming the president of low job creation; and if that is not the height of hypocrisy, nobody knows what that is.

Unfortunately, the same applies to you.

Just for informational purposes, when one whittles down it means lower. When Obama came into office unemployment was 7.8, now it is a false reported 8.1, Hmmm that's higher.

I find it interesting that while the media is so pro Obama you pick on them for being honest on this report. I have read it and it is full of so many false numbers it is incredible.

There might be valid points in this article, but I found it difficult to read because of the sentence structure and perceived lack of objectivity. Instead, I found myself skimming through it, and ultimately took nothing away from it.
