ORDINARY AMERICANS. . . . .are we finished?

Federally owned land

It is clear that for many years there has been a push by the government both Democrats and Republicans to gain more and more control over the “people”. In recent years it has become more apparent, more blatant. The airport screening, the confiscating of land, the environmental requirements are all control mechanisms. There is an elitist class of people in Washington DC, who go to Washington with a promise of working for the people but instead concentrate their efforts on retaining their power and enriching themselves.

The largest control mechanism of course is money. Without a job, with no savings, folks are forced to turn to the government for help. There are more people on welfare now than in the history of this nation. That gives congress enormous control over our lives. Congress is happy to gorge on that power.

The collective increase in wealth of all congress people during these years in which many Americans are struggling desperately to survive is 16%. Yes while average folks are losing their jobs and homes and investments, congress people have increased in wealth. Over l/2 of congressmen are millionaires.

It is the policies of Congress that brought about the disastrous financial situation our country is now in. Those smug congressmen, mostly democrats decided it would be “fair” to make home loans to folks that could not possibly afford homes. Billions were loaned to people not qualified for mortgages. When the loans went into foreclosure the lenders were left with worthless paper and that started the dominoes to fall. NOW, the present administration is ONCE AGAIN PUSHING BANKS TO MAKE THESE WORTHLESS LOANS.

WHY? Millions of homes across the USA have the same lender. The US government.

Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac have purchased the bulk of all mortgages, and when they are foreclosed upon the real property (the land ) converts to the mortgage holder, i.e. the government. The more foreclosures, the more land the government owns. In addition the government has purchased huge sections of land in the USA, practically all of the West. The federal government owns about l/3 of the country. Once citizens are deprived of real property land ownership they will be totally enslaved and the New World Order will have won.

To understand this, one has to accept the mind set of the very rich and powerful, and it is so very difficult to do this. To grasp the sheer arrogance of those politicians in congress and the rich and powerful in banking and on Wall Street is almost impossible because it is breathtaking.

Those in power truly believe there are two classes, the rich, the powerful and the ruling party VS we, the little people. Their actions, their laws are generated by the belief that we little people NEED to be ruled, controlled and told what to do. Our lives and our property and our money need their orchestration. Why is it do you think that the laws they pass often do not apply to them? Why is it that they are not required to have Obamacare? What difference does it make to them if we are patted down at airports and subjected to harmful radiation? They are not subjected to that humiliation. What difference does it make if we lose our homes, our jobs and investments? They have theirs and in fact their financial situations are improving and if common folks go broke there is the government to take care of them, give them food stamps and provide mandated health care and Oh, send their kids to some awful public school. Those in power would not think of sending their children to public schools.

They have been working on stripping us of our rights and our freedoms in order to push and corral us into areas of containment. It has greatly escalated under Barack Obama. Americans are being squeezed into conformity at every turn and we seem to just accept it.

A few more years of this present administration and this country will not survive.

When do Americans say “Enough”?

I have been saying ENOUGH for a long time now, but it appears the vast majority of us little people just don't see the big picture. We now have so many citizens "Hooked on Handouts" they live in fear of these questionable gifts being taken away. They don't see that if our government was doing what they are supposed to do, they would not need the handouts.

      Great hub.

We say "enough" now, but it has to be a majority of the nation and that is going to take some doing. There is a collective blindness afflicting the people that threatens to destroy us. Four more years of Obama and we are done for. We need to take our country back and our lives as well. The long and intrusive arm of government needs to be broken.Up and awesome.

      Hi pool:

You are right. I don't see how this can be reversed. Certain segments of our society have been living on welfare for generations and now we are adding more and more cultures to the welfare rolls as immigrants pour into our country and are unable to support themselves. Seems like we need to stop immigration and tighten welfare requirements. I used to have a neighbor that lived in a very nice neighborhood and had real estate holdings, generous child support etc, etc, and she was on welfare. It was total fraud, so I sent the evidence to the welfare dept., and they didn't care. :)

It will be almost impossible to reverse it Pop, unless we get rid of Obama. He is promoting the welfare state. He is an abomination.

Do you suppose if we tightened up the Welfare requirements it would lessen the number of illegals rushing over the border? If the grass ain't greener on the other side there is no sense climbing the fence.

Yes, of course. Free healthcare for pregnant mothers is a huge draw, and all the other freebies, but we won't. The present government wants them flowing across the border and going on the welfare rolls and voting democrat. Bush was no better on immigration. It is mind boggling. Crime, gangs have taken over Southern California where the population is now about 50% hispanic. These are non english speaking, no assimilating, uneducated Mexicans. The mayor of LA is Mexican. White flight started in Southern California at least 2 decades ago as illegals poured into the state and took over entire neighborhoods and began war with the blacks other folks began moving North and out of the state. It's all just amazing to see and our officials stand by and do nothing. I'm afraid Old Pool that I just don't understand it and can't deal with it either.

I seem to be reading articles this morning that get me on my soap box. It is now imperative that we return to the principles of the US Constitution and stay there. For over a century now, this nation has been allowed to stray away from that hallowed document. It was by design and not chance.

What our Founding Fathers set up was the concept of a limited federal government and not some tax dollar eating monster who has decided that it can be everything to everybody. That isn't possible. That's a fact.

Lets return our government to the rightful owners - "We, the People..." Both parties are to blame for this mess we are witnessing and all the partisan crap in the world isn't going to solve the problems we face and they are extreme problems. They all say they want to fix it but not a damned one of them have the guts to grab the bull by the horns and wrestle that sucker to the ground.

I have been overly tired of Congress for a long time. When Americans try to send the right one to Congress, we are fooled once again, by what they promise and what they end up doing, are two different things.

Congress thinks they are above the law, and above "We The People"but as my Granny always said--"What goes around will surely come around again" and we might have a better Congress one day--I pray.

And HISTORY does repeat it's self...if we are not careful...Germany anyone? When will Congress wake up and start working for us, instead of against us. If ever prayer is needed it is now!

Well addressed, mslizzee! Isn't it scary? I really like the way you put it and the fact that they "gorge on that power" is a great descriptor.
