Obama: Hope and Change the Broken Promises

Updated on April 2, 2012

In 2007 and 2008 much of the country was in awe of a young politician with a great speaking ability now President Obama. During this time the country herd a man speak of hope and change and bring changes to the country. He claimed he wasn't President Bush and he was going to create change. Some of the biggest promises bringing jobs back, keeping unemployment under 8 percent, helping students and an improved health care system to name a few.

Individuals in the United States were happy to hear all these promises. His competior a fomer prisioner of war and republican could not overtake President Obama. The biggest push Obama used again Mcain was "i'm not bush" the line worked. But three years later what has happened.

Unemployment rates have stayed between 9 and 10% for most of the Obama presidency. This is much higher then the 8% maximum level promised. For the first 18 months they continued to blame this on President Bush then slowly realized this line wasn't working. Also it became hard tblame bush for failure but for any success say it had nothing to do with so called Bush policies.Today roughly 16-18% of people are unemployed or underemployed.

National debt has increased more under President Obama in 3 yars then it did in 8 under President Bush. So basically Obama has done more damage long term to the country in less the one term then President Bush did in 8. It is so bad that a recent vote went 414-0 against a President Obama proposed budget. It is pretty bad when not even one democrat voted for the budget.

Universal Health Care

This is one area which isn't necessarily a knock against President Obama. One lofty goal he had was essentially universal health care in the United States he proposed a plan that did not include a mandate. Actually he was against the mandate when competing against Hillary Clinton. His own party may have cost him this lofty goal. When all the concessions were made a mandate was including. Now the Supreme Court is most likely going to overturn this case and possibly going to cost him a second term. If I was the president I would be ashmed of my own party now.

Presidet Obama has essentially followed Bush philosophy of war more war and big military

So in the end it seems to me that President Obama did no create hope and change. He just extending the Bush problems for another 4 years. Thinks Mr. Obama, I mean I didn't vote for you but you did a good job tricking so many.
