Obama Repeats Arizona Law Blunder Before Reading Arizona Law

Updated on July 28, 2010

Iowa Townhall Meeting Ice Cream "Scare" Speech

This morning, I watched an interview on Fox News – you know that bastion of only conservative views…and I admit, I was stunned by something I just heard out of the mouth of a guest Bill Hemmer had on his program, August 28, 2010 in the 9:00 am Eastern hour.

I was unable to get the guest’s name as of this writing, but will update this Hub with the specific information the moment I am able to obtain it (the Fox website didn’t have that information yet).

I do know what I heard from someone Hemmer called a judge and who seemed to have specific knowledge (as an insider would ) from within the Obama administration. The guest spoke with confidence, not prefacing, "I believe" or "It would seem" or anything of the sort.

At one point Hemmer asked the guest what he believed the ruling would be regarding the lawsuit the Federal Government had filed against Arizona.

What wasn’t so obvious was the stunning statement the guest made right after Hemmer showed a similar video to what I have here. The Obama Arizona Ice Cream speech he gave in a stacked Townhall gathering in Iowa was identical, just from another camera point of view.

In the video, President Obama describes the Arizona law as he knew it at the time. “You can…you can…this law that just passed in Arizona, which I think is a poorly conceived law…” [applause, applause] He goes on to explain that someone who could have had relatives here since before Arizona was a state could be forced, by law enforcement, to produce proof of citizenship while simply on an ice-cream outing with one’s family.

According to Hemmer’s guest this morning, President Obama made that speech, before reading the law and the guest went on to say that now [President Obama] knows what he said there was wrong.

Come again?

Excuse me? President Obama now knows that what he said in that speech was wrong, that what his Administration officials have been repeating over and over – while these officials themselves admitted to not have read the law either, is wrong?

So President Obama didn’t read the law, made at least one speech we can see right here about this law and his denunciation of it, but has given zero retraction regarding his stupid…ahem…mistaken remarks?

What about all of those in the audience who applauded? Have they now read the law and realize that what President Obama said wasn’t true?

Has there been a constant hail of reporting by the old-stream media informing the American people that 1) President Obama has consistently commented on a law and denounced that law that he had not yet read?

2) That this fear mongering and misinformation that the President and his administration has been beating the drum about is consistently wrong yet despite knowing this they have not corrected that wrong yet?

3) Has our brilliant constitutional law genius of a President made yet still another blunder with regard to something in the area of his expertise?

Oh wait, he just shot off his Presidential mouth before even reading the law so we can’t attribute this blunder to stupidity now, can we? He hadn’t even read it yet! That’s not dumb! It’s not like he read it and then still made the mistake. I see it all clearly now!

Oooh this President is such a smarty pants! He’s such a scholar! You know, as compared to President George W. Bush or say John Kerry who can’t find anyone to fix his boat in the whole coastal state he’s from of Massachusetts…

Yep, we got us some real intellectual giants right there!

How many more videos like this one below are we going to have to make about this President and his shoot from the hip type of leadership? Ready FIRE --- AIM!

Disclaimer regarding video below: I am not implying that President Obama is a pig. The name of the person/persons/group who made this video are called "TVPIGS" - thus apparently, the pig cartoon characterization of Mr. Obama.

Great hub! If Obama cared about America, perhaps he would have spent the time and resources of the federal government on better border security and immigration law enforcement instead of suing Arizona over the state trying to better protect the citizens of Arizona from criminal illegal aliens.

I just hope enough of America has learned from these first 2 years so that we see a real change in congress in November! Speaking of out of control liberals with carte blanche public support, let me know what you think about the captured comments I have on my Shirley Sherrod hub. Thanks

I think that cartoon addresses him "shooting" off his mouth Joni about the "stupid" comment - but regardless, you are right and not only is this NOT the only instance, but it definitely won't be the last. What a huge blunder electing him President. How could the American public who voted for him have missed all the signs so many of us saw? When I watch Glen Beck sometimes - I don't do it often, it's so bleak - I find I"m saying to the television out loud, DUH so many of us knew this!!!

Thanks for leaving your comments, they are much appreciated!

This isn't the first instance where Obama shot off his mouth before he knew facts. We mustn't forget the 'stupidly' comment.

From what we see all around the elite in Washington these days, speaking with facts to back you up is no longer considered vital. Speak and act first, then we can know what is in the bill ~ was their answer to the health care bill too.

Let's face it, there are so many instances of Obama lying and so many instances of him perpetuating the lies. This administration doesn't apologize, ever. They have such contempt for the average American that they don't feel the truth is necessary. They want results and they will get what they want by any means. What an utter disgrace. Great hub. Thumbs up!

Obumma is a proven liar and an America-hating socialist. It doesn't matter to him or his supporters because they all think he is next to God. This "presidency" is the most depressing thing ever, I hope I haven't lost my mind by the 2012 election!!

Democrats seem to be taking pride in claiming ignorance these days. I recently listened to a talking head answer a question saying, 'no, I didn't know that, but it wouldn't make any difference...' while, of course, the facts of the issue were important to know. Might the reason they claim ignorance be that no facts matter to them? Their agenda matters; it's all that matters.
