Obama Turns Against Israel
Tevya is at the Table
Good Morning, Breakfastpoppera. Wasp Tevya, is with me at the breakfast table. Tevya is thrilled that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scored a resounding victory in the Israeli elections. He is quite certain the President Obama is not a happy camper, judging by his continued bad behavior towards Netanyahu and the state of Israel. Tevya has asked me to extend an invitation to all of you this morning. He has prepared golden potato pancakes for breakfast and he will be serving them with applesauce. I am preparing Irish coffees to complement the meal. Please join us.
Thank you for joining me this morning. There are few things on earth as unattractive as a sore loser. President Obama is clearly one of those, judging by his behavior towards Prime Minister Netanyahu from the beginning of his term in office all the way through until now. The president can barely contain his contempt for the Prime Minister and he has gone out of his way to show both Netanyahu and the world just how deep his animosity is. His behavior is an ugly departure from what has always been a good relationship with our closest ally in the Middle East. Our allies who support Israel are not pleased with President Obama or his new found respect and affection for Israel's enemies, Iran being just one of them. The American non-profit OneVoice Movement has been linked to a concerted campaign to orchestrate Benjamin Netanyahu's defeat. This organization used public taxpayer funds to interfere in the Israeli election. They received almost $350,000 in grants from the Obama administration's State Department, in violation of its tax exempt status. The group's interference in the election was not permitted and it is believed that President Obama was behind this effort. Clearly, this suspicion merits a deeper look. The good news is that Netanyahu triumphed despite the campaign against him. Not only did he win, but he won big. Clearly, the people of Israel chose to elect a strong leader with clear allegiance and devotion to his country. If only the American people had felt the same way when they entered the voting booth two times in the last six years.
Barely Veiled Threats
The Obama administration made it clear after Netanyahu's victory that they intend to assume a tougher stance against Israel. The Dictator in Chief let it be known that he is prepared to turn to the UN Security Council to create a Palestinian state. Our president has allegiance to the Palestinians. These are the same Palestinians that want a state of their own, but also want Israeli blown off the map. Netanyahu has since backed off a bit from his opposition, but despite all of this peace will never come to this area as long as Palestinians want to destroy israel. Somehow this fact has eluded the president. If he chooses to drop American veto power on the Security Council, it will break a decades old tradition of protecting Israel. A two-state solution is an almost impossible goal given the real relationship between Israel and Palestinian leaders. It is time to face reality and stop dancing in the dark.
The Networks Weigh In
The mainstream media took every opportunity to malign Prime Minister Netanyahu. CBS and NBC tore into him for his attitude towards a two state solution. The media tried to diminish Netanyahu's resounding victory, dismissing it as a response to his "hard-line rhetoric." MSNBC showcased Andrea Mitchell talking to a former Palestinian Authority spokesperson. No effort was made to talk to an Israeli official. The left in America seem to be moving closer and closer to appeasing our enemies. I can only suppose they are taking President Obama's lead. It seems to me that both President Obama and his friends in the state run media should be focused more on the threat of a nuclear Iran. Our allegiance and our support are veering off into unchartered and dangerous territory. It is becoming increasing impossible to recognize America.
Dear God, you made so many liberals
It's no shame to be a liberal
But it's no great honor either!
