Obama; Talk Tough but Carry a Marshmallow not a Stick

Updated on September 29, 2009

General Stanley A. McChrystal , informed Premier Hussein Obama that Failure to gain the initiative and reverse insurgent momentum in the next 12 months while Afghan security capacity matures risks an outcome where defeating the insurgency is no longer possible! This statement was made in conjunction with his urgent request for 40,000 additional troops. McChrystal also admitted he had only spoken directly with Obama once since taking command of the Afghan war! Maybe McChrystal should get a talk show like Letterman so he could gain greater access to our Supreme Commander?

In response to the request, The Anointed One sent down from on high, looked directly into his teleprompter and said, "I will ultimately make the decision that will meet that core goal I set out at the beginning," Now I ask you, is that not an example of true unwavering leadership. The Afghan War is teetering on the brink and Our Paper Tiger and Chief says I’ll get around to making that decision, maybe when I return from Copenhagen where I’ll pitch Chicago as an Olympic site!

The real reason for Obama’s wavering is that the war is losing public support, and Democrats in Congress have told Obama they do not want to send more forces. These are the same Democrats claim if we don’t pass Health Care Reform in the next two weeks America will cease to exist as a health nation or if we don’t immediately pass Cap and Trade the world will burn up in three months! Yet this same bunch, led by the Messiah himself, proclaimed Afghanistan the war we couldn’t lose now are willing to turn their backs on the country and walk away just as they did in the Vietnam War!

But walking away from Afghanistan carries with it many more dire conquests than did our abandoning of Viet Nam! When we left Viet Nam the suffering was contained only to the people of the region, this time the suffering will be spread worldwide. If we leave the Taliban will most assuredly move back in and begin operations as they did pre 911. Unfettered access to the region without fear of reprisals will no doubt result in many more 911 style attacks.

But fear not, our Supreme Being who can’t seem to find the time to meet face to face with his top commander in this critical region reassured us on all the Obama friendly Sunday shows that he has not told McChrystal to sit on his request and that “Right now, the questions are, are we doing the right thing? Are we pursuing the right strategy?” Obama concluded saying “When we have clarity on that, then the question is, O.K., how do we resource it?” What, just a few months ago, back in March that he was committed to a full-fledged counter-insurgency war in Afghanistan and that the US objective in the region  was to defeat al-Qaeda! He now seems to be backing away from that position at a time when McChrystal is declaring that "failure to provide adequate resources" would probably result in "mission failure!"

So, indeed, here we go again, just as was the case with the former Paper Tiger Lyndon Johnson during the Viet Nam War era this current Talk Tough but carry a Big Marshmallow Commander and Chief is listening to the far left loons of his party. But when Lyndon Johnson, Jane Fonda and Walter Cronkite, he only abandoned a region; when Hussein Obama listens to Code Pink and Move on Dot Org and abandons this fight, he is abandoning the world!

I probably threw you a curve by publishing back to back HUBS; both on how weak Obama is. One dealing with Iran's latest missile test and this one!

      Dear Patriot,

I must be crazy, but I was sure I wrote to you on this Hub. Oh well, maybe too much breakfast this morning.Obama is not Commander in Chief material. He is ill equipped to make important decisions and his lack of experience and frankly, interest in world affairs and the war is showing. Great Hub.

He's too busy firming up the Olympics for his friends, to worry about a little thing like war. Keep Hubbing!
