Only vote for those who are Constitutionalists by Merwin

Updated on March 4, 2012

Have you ever thought about running for office..?

I recently posted on my FaceBook... the introduction to the Preamble of our Constitution and then the Bill of Rights.

I was inspired by my lovely wife who (also recently) changed my profile picture, to a picture of the beginning of the Preamble, "We the People..."

The Christian Coalition from the old "Moral Majority", had or has as their solution to the problem of "government gone crazy" is to just populate Capitol Hill with Christians... this resolve is all wrong.

While I am in favor of Christians holding office... it is no guarantee that the person who happens to be Christian has their head screwed on right.

The solution is not, "bring God back into politics." The solution is Bring the DEMAND for our Constitution back into politics.

Freedom of Religion and the "Free exercise thereof" is guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, which means a believer or non-believer of any or all religions, may exercise their beliefs freely... even in the political arena.

I do not want to run for office, but I do declare that if anyone should run, or vote for someone that is running, then "We the People" need to insist that the would be elected official, be a Constitutionalist.

Anyone running for office should not do so on the, "I am a Christian" platform, and a person using that as leverage may be nothing more than a fraud. Nothing more than a Machiavellian Mechanic, working for The Machine.

And this is not to say that a Christian is undesirable, he or she certainly is (in my opinion), but we cannot count on their faith espousal to be true.

What we may "count on", is their Constitutional behavior to show with EVERY VOTE they make while in office. If someone gains office on the platform that "I will only vote for something if it is Constitutionally sound!" then, if they do not hold true to that, they will be voted out or possibly even impeached.

People... we need to stop The Machine's efforts to destroy our Constitution NOW.

DO NOT VOTE for anyone for any reason other than they are a Constitutionalist..!

They may be Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Independent, the ideals that are usually associated with each of these, may go forward under the MANDATES of the Constitution.

As for you... Please run for office, with whatever ideals that move you to do so, but do it Constitutionally.

      2 gjfalcone...

Thank you for your comment. Please run for office as a Constitutionalist with "whatever" party. We need you.

Let me start with; I absolutely agree with your point of view. The Core of our nation's values are under attack. The Constitution is being widdled down from a mighty Oak to a toothpick.

Estimates are the presidential election will hit 1 Billion dollars from each party. Money is so deeply entrenched in every corner of our political process, a crowbar wouldn't budge it.

A Constitutional Amendment is an avenue to get money out of the political process, yet in less than a year, the machine will have decided our fate. I'm open to suggestions.
