Pakistan Day Parade After 7 Long Years
A joint military parade of Pakistan’s armed forced took place after 7 long years at the capital Islamabad. To ensure the security of the parade the federal government of Pakistan took some notable steps, Cell phone networks were not working during the parade hours, half of the city was sealed due to security situation. In 2008 when the militants were largely targeting the armed forces and their camps, Pakistan day parade was called off.
The chief guests of the event included Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef, President Mamnoon Hussain and the COAS Gen Raheel Shareef. This event was a mere tribute to the children who were massacred in APS Peshawar. President of Pakistan also praised all the soldiers who are participating in the war against terrorism.
Pakistani armed forces displayed their military assets. Fly-pasts were displayed by the Pakistan Air Force which included F-16 fighter planes, JF-17 fighter planes, Mirage, and F-7 fighter planes. The parade was conducted at the parade avenue near Faizabad Interchange. It all kicked off with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals. Various regiments from Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air-Force and Pakistan army took part in the march. Special Service Group of Pakistan Army displayed awe-inspiring and skillful show of Para trooping.
Apart from the breathtaking display by the armed forces at the parade avenue it was great to see the nation was all united. There is no doubt that the armed forces have played a vital role in the cleaning process started in the North Waziristan against TTP. Military forces have given the whole nation a new hope and strength to fight against the terrorists. This Pakistan day parade reminded the whole country about the good old days, it was heartening to see that they are coming back slowly but surely.
